The clip that holds down air filter. Where does it connect to the throttle body elbow? In the hole on each side or above? I can't seem to get adjusted right for my gl450?It's either loose or it pops off when I hit a bump causing vacuum leak.

I am thinking about getting the K&N air filter....is that what you have..if so have you noticed any performance improvements?
@fupabox
7 жыл бұрын
Myself ..I wouldn't use a K&N filter ..The oil on them can contaminate the MAF sensor ,and they clog quicker than normal filters.. I know of several people who have tried them in the last few years and then went back to normal filters

Is that the ECU conveniently placed in the hottest part of the engine bay ?

I'm actually not certain what that is on top of the engine..I think it might be the variable intake actuator

Yes that's the ecu. My 2009 c350 has ecu in same exact location and died at around 140k miles

Thanks! Are you sure that was an E-15 E-Torx nut? I don't see anyone making that size. I see 14 and 16.

Damn , you’re absolutely correct . I believe it’s a 16

Reminder to all: make sure to put back all 3 hoses. I only put the 2 hoses and forgot the middle injector hose. The incomplete video totally made me forget that part.

Thank you for this! I did it successfully! I'm so happy. Btw, what's the function of this filter? How important is it and how often should I change it?
@fupabox
7 жыл бұрын
air filter should be changed every 20-30 thousand miles ..more often if you drive on dirt roads frequently, or in dusty areas. It traps all the dirt and dust from getting into your engine..when it gets clogged your fuel economy can suffer, and the car may run poorly

fupabox I have a lot of condensation inside the window of my car on cold weather. I don't know where the condensation is coming from. I thought it got to do with the filter. Guess not. What do you think is causing the condensation?
@fupabox

Does it go away once the defroster is turned on ? if you do mainly short drives the climate control system has a hard time removing moisture from the interior..if the windshield fogs up with the defroster on, it would be bad news..usually a leaking heater core

I had a broken door seal. I can't believe a broken seal can cause condensation on the windows.

Would you buy a Mercedes if one of the air intake hoses was missing but the car was running fine?
@fupabox
3 жыл бұрын
The intake tube missing isn’t that big a deal . The air is still filtered . The hose just brings in cool air from the grille rather than warm air from under the hood .

Ridiculous design to replace an air filter... Good you don't need to remove the engine and rear wheels with differential ...
