I was diagnosed in January of 2003. The doctors said 6-9 months if I didn’t do treatment. 9-18 months if i did treatment and it worked (but it wouldn’t work) i did treatment. After the 7 weeks of chemo and radiation every single day (radiation was Monday through Friday) i did 10 more rounds of chemo and finally finished the last dose on the night I graduated high school.

A friend from work just passed from GBM after 1 1/2 years. He was 49 and the picture of health and it took him down. It’s a very sad illness with high mortality. Glad you are well.

My cousin was having headaches and then started having small seizures, he went to a medical center in San Francisco and had all the tests and was told he also had a Giloblastoma and they gave him 6 months, unfortunately he passed in 3 months from his diagnose.

We're so sorry to hear this, 3 months is terrible. We're working to make glioblastoma treatable - our model is the HIV/AIDS movement that turned a death sentence into a manageable condition.

Is she still alive? Lucky one, thanks God if she is still here to tell about it! I have nieces who have brain tumors, but it seems they are not as lethal as Glioblastoma since they have survived for more than 12 and 15 years.

We always recommend people get a second opinion, ideally at a treatment center that sees many people with GBM. Our GBM Bill of Rights may help you know what questions to ask. Are you in Turkey? We have not had it translated to Turkish, but Google Translate can help. ourbrainbank.org/rights Best of luck to you and your wife

Same for me. Surgery Feb 2021 for left mid temporal. Then chemo and radiation which ended March 15th approx. after 5 weeks when things settle down then MRI and after the chemo dr. Will talk to me about more chemo i am sure. I think their goal is to slow down its return which they probably think is likely since they can never get 100%.
