My favorite Merfolk doesn't have a named plane, although I would love it if they made Shandalar her home. Araumi of the Dead Tide has lore referencing her leading pirates to her home and they slaughtered a lot of them. She then awakened her necromantic powers and she drove them away. It's a great dichotomy to Talrand who was my OG favorite Merfolk. And my 1st commander budget deck that I loved building.

Heyyy sweet, new vid! And it looks like there's no ad breaks for this one! I don't know how much control you have over that, but not having ads in the middle is sooooo much better. They tend to be significantly louder. This channel is one of my favorites to listen to in my headphones when falling asleep... No loud , sudden ad breaks is a huge QOL fix! Edit: I was wrong, it does have ad breaks :(

I just updated my Simic Merfolx deck from Tishana to Kumena, and I'm so happy to see all the depth and diversity within such an underappreciated tribe. Thank you!

I'm not gonna lie, I've been looking back on all of these videos you've made on these studies of different creature types. Something that would be cool to see would be a study in the color pie theory as a whole. And I mean as a whole like the normal colors, colorless, color combinations and phyrexian colors (yes they are different than the normal colors) either way if you do or don't, I'm still going to watch what you make. You're a fantastic story teller taking from the cards and the stories which creates a more concrete and definitive study. Keep up the fantastic work

Despite being home to the only merfolk planeswalker, I never really think of merfolk being a race on Zendikar... It's a very vertical plane, you don't really think downwards. I'd imagine the Roil is even worse underwater, with sharp waterways and whirlpools and things like that Although now they're slowly going extinct after the eldrazi attack could make for an interesting story.... Also I agree with the other guy saying they're very elf-life.

This was a great video. Merfolk is my favorite race besides the big baddies. I really appreciate how much work goes in to these videos!

I really enjoyed this video. Lore videos that devle into the histories of races is always amazing/ facinating. MTG has such a vast multiverse to get a good chunk of it here, is a wonderful taste of the blind enternities. I hope to see more race videos going forward.

Absolutely love your videos! So much depth and quality packed into a nice concise package. Would love to see a video diving into the lore and history of the many Rats in Magic the Gathering.

I wish they would explore stories about the everyday mundane things and the adventures of everyday beings across the multiverse more. They seem so much more interesting than the stories about the Planeswalkers.

So I've been completely enamored with the way you story-tell and explain the world's and everything in between, I've been trying to write a d&d camping in MTG and the best multiverse they have and the single-player I have is a merfolk.

18:39. Ah shit, there's the card for the quote I left in the community post. That poor guy is going to get slit. 24:58 Look there he is again. My man is making his rounds doing up the slitty. I bastardized the quote but enough of it stuck around to keep the point.

I still don't understand what makes a merfolk any different from an elf tbh. Like they aren't even averse to red mana. They're literally sea elves that weirdly don't hang out with elves anywhere but simic (who somehow finds the one way to be a little *too* inclusive hahaha)
