I’ve had 3 pairs of Terrex which I loved until I tried the Merrells. The Terrex uppers fell apart after about 3 months. They’re equal in comfort but not as durable. And the continental grips wore out and cracked in all 3.

Great video! I ended up buying half a size down on the Terrex and I also experienced some minor heel slippage, I've been using them for mounting biking and they're awesome!

If youre testing on the trails - rugged terrain, rocks, slippery rocks, mud…I find the grip to be superior to Merrell, the continental branding that reminds you of tires is because it is the same company representing them. Terrex/continental grip are notorious for the incredible grip

Yes, when I do my 2023 version I will definitely include side-by-side comparisons on different types of terrain like mud, rock, dirt, gravel.

You are wrong about Continental outsole. It's grip is phenomenal on real surfaces. Outdoor is not your garage with concrete floor :)) And it's not a "goodyear" outsole of $10 boots.

Thanks for that info. In my next round of testing I plan to include more realworld terrain for testing. I like the setup in my garage because it is very repeatable. The polished concrete does give good data about the grippiness of the compound and on that front I would say that Continental does not do as well as other rubber compuonds. The traction though with those deep, stiff lugs is probably very good in head-to-head testing against other shoes.

I know for sure I will never buy Merrell again. All my Merrels, including those of my kids, died in a few months of light use. They are beautiful, but definitely unreliable.

Mine did not travel well. I put them on a ship in Houston to move to Italy and they were too small when they arrived in Italy but they fit my 13 yr old perfectly now.
