Join us during spring time in North Idaho as we get ready for our newest milk cow, Shirley, to deliver her 2024 calf. We build a simple milk stanchion out of old wood scraps from past construction projects and get it fitted for Shirley so she can provide delicious raw milk for our family of 6. The lady of the house here skips some normal housekeeping chores because making memories outside on an Idaho spring day with the cows and kids is more important to us than a spotless kitchen :) The wife shares her thoughts about keeping the farmhouse clean during the warmer months. We also administer our spring shots for all our sheep before they head out to new pasture for the season. And a special thanks to Rita from Everything Homemade for some of her awesome dairy cow innovations and tips.

About Us: Thanks for joining us and our four homeschooled children behind the scenes as we run our ranch together and enjoy traditional mountain living. We are an old fashioned Christian family that drinks raw milk, raises our own meat, works with our hands, and hunt and fish together to help fill our freezer. We met 13 years ago and moved into a run down farm in the mountains. Over the years we have had just about every farm animal there is, but now raise mainly Scottish Highland cattle, Katahdin sheep, Berkshire pigs, and barnyard chickens on 100 acres in beautiful scenic Idaho.
This channel won't be flashy or exciting. We love the beauty of old fashioned slow living as a family. From here on out we plan on posting content from our daily lives around the ranch as we cook and eat together, learn together, build from scratch, steward the land, and tend to livestock as a family. We also make and consume a lot of sourdough bread. :)
