Anne Nonnemacher, Soprano
Anne Nonnemacher is from St. Paul, MN and attended the U of M, where she studied with Lawrence Weller. She moved to NYC in 1996 to pursue her MM at MSM and a career in music, studying with Maitland Peters. In NYC Anne has performed with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players and The New York Choral Artists, and has sung with the Oregon Bach Festival in Eugene, OR and in Europe, and performed at The College Light Opera Company and The Theater Barn. She also studied with Steve Sweetland for many years in NYC. In 1999, Anne joined the Extra Chorus for “Otello” at the Metropolitan Opera and in 2001, Anne joined the company as a member of the Regular Chorus. This coming season would be her 21st! Anne has performed various solo work with The Met, from her first scream in "Elektra" to a Suburban Mom in "Two Boys", The Millener in "Der Rosenkavalier" and one of her favorites, Ancelle 1, in "Turandot" (which she has sung 63 times). Anne has mainly been working as "5th grade helper" for her son since March and is extremely happy to participate in this special project with some of her Met colleagues -- can’t wait until we are reunited in person on stage for the 2021-2022 opera season!!!
Kyung-Eun Na - Piano
Kyung-Eun Na has cultivated a multi-faceted career as a performer, opera coach, music director, and educator. Currently, she is on the faculty as Head of Collaborative Piano at Purchase College State University of New York and as a vocal coach at Manhattan School of Music. Prior to her current positions she had taught at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Ms. Na has served on the music staffs of the Hawaii Opera Theatre, Ravinia Steans Music Institute, Virginia Opera, and SOO Opera Theatre Project, Inc. Winner of the Marilyn Horne Foundation Competition in 2007, Na participated in recital tour projects and master classes with emerging singers. Born in Seoul, Korea, Kyung-Eun Na earned her doctorate degree in accompanying from Manhattan School of Music, master’s degree in collaborative piano from The Juilliard School, artist diploma from Oberlin Conservatory, and bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Yonsei University.
