Great video! I would love to see a video on how to start a conversation with a homeowner about detecting their property. What to say and what not to say. God Bless

Now I really enjoyed these beginner tips you shared. I've wanted to buy a new metal detector since my old bounty died about 12 years ago but with so many out there I've been unsure which would be best for me and my area. The Legend overall sounds like a good one for me. Does anyone ever worry about underground electric wires or gas lines? Is there any way to tell or does one not generally dig deep enough to hit one of those?

That’s a great question. I plan to cover that next. Even WiFi cables are only about 4 inches in the ground. When detecting someone’s yard, I try to isolate the target to make sure that it’s not going off in a straight line. If it’s doing that, it’s more than likely a long pipe, or some sort of an electric/cable line. I always ask the homeowners when I get permission where their utilities are buried. Sometimes they know, sometimes they don’t.

I'll be sure to watch your next video then on this matter. I know years ago I went to an old mid-1800's homestead in the deep mountains and the grasses a bit high. I near stepped in the hole of an old well & it truly put a fear in me. I did find old boards to cover the top but lines, old septics and wells I do fear. Your tips will help on staying safe so I look forward to your next video@@southernrelics

Great video Stephen! Glad you will be doing a part 2. I keep the strap on my detector because when I hunt in water, I won't lose my detector. I know that's just personal preference though. Looking forward to your next video. God bless!
