Great video Simon, belated happy birthday to you as well. Seal matrix is high on my hit list and that one is a corker ! I thought the button was more like a half cufflink ? I've a few pairs of early Georgian ones I occasionally wear. Keep the videos coming, love em

Great search Simon, the seal matrix is superb. The little bit of silver looks like it has oak leaves & an oak kernel- maybe off a book clasp? Anyway happy birthday and thanks again for a relaxing video.

Yes thanks Jel ...... all ok but I've not been out of course because of all my permissions have crops ...... usualy i manage to find small patches to go on and I've been keeping a close eye on a couple that the farmer usualy cultivates but this year he hasn't...... I'm guessing its probably down to fuel prices but who knows...... anyway hope to be out soon when he harvests ...... 🤠👍

Hello Simon, I've been watching and enjoying your videos from earlier as I am a Goldmaxx user and I saw that you were initially hesitant with going down the digital screen route and chargeable coil etc. Obviously you've got some good detecting land and been using the ORX for some time now ( a good few years) In honesty do you believe the ORX has been better than the Goldmaxx In performance and finds? Think you were doing well with the Goldmaxx. Thanks Rob

Hi Rob ..... In all honesty , i was very happy with my Goldmaxx and i have thought about getting another one (and keeping my orx) ...... the 11" 18 kilohertz setup that i had with my Goldmaxx i felt was unbeatable, if there was a hammered coin there i would find it and it found me quite a few hammered coin cut quarters and tiny little hammered farthings ...... there were a couple of things i didn't like about the Goldmaxx and that was the weight of it ..... it was quite heavy also the battery compartment started playing up, sometimes it would lose connection somehow ..... i did like the manual adjustment though and i think i will always miss it ...... i nearly moved onto the Deus but when i saw the Orx that is what i decided on ...... on some of my Orx videos you will here me say that im trying to reproduce my Goldmaxx settings with my Orx and this is why , i think an 11" coil works very well on the Goldmaxx and the Orx ..... thanks ..... 🤠👍

@@simonread7426 thanks Simon for taking the time to reply. Yes I've seen another KZitemr who had the Goldmaxx and was finding some nice finds then he too has gone on to get another XP detector the Deus 2. I got my XP Goldmaxx after seeing the late John Webb using one on another KZitem video. I then purchased 11inch and eliptical coil and admit I have enjoyed using it. Its the Mark 1 Goldmaxx. I found this wasn't wireless so then went and got myself the Power Mk2. I must say I do like the wireless feature. I am still a Tesoro /Laser fan and admit I think I need to return to these too. My best finds came with my Silver Sabre Plus many years ago with a bronze age axe and my one and only hammered coin of Elizabeth 1st.. I must admit I wish I had the permissions you have as my permissions appear very quite comparing to yours but your area was probably more steeped in history and more highly populated than mine. That's not to say there isn't history in my locality. Thanks again for your reply. Best Wishes Rob.

@@delticrobo hi rob yes i agree ...... mine was the Goldmaxx power , im still tempted to get another one ...... John webb who you mentioned was that The Norfolk Wolf ? .... if so i watched and studied the same video many many times , it gave me lots of inspiration to get out there detecting and would often watch it before i went out the next day ...... thanks again ..... 🤠👍

@@simonread7426 John Webb was possibly one of the first metal detectorists in England. He was on a BBC TV program in 1973. Please look up si-finds channel and there are 5 videos of him discussing his experiences of metal detecting, dump digging, mud larking. There is also another video from Simon in memory of John which actually shows this 1973 program. He wrote several books and one in particular The Successful Treasure Hunters Guide. I will try and paste you some links. John Lynn the NorfolkWolf was also a well known respected detectorist who sadly has also passed on. He produced the XP Explained dvd in conjunction with Regtons I believe. Roger the Relic Back to Basics Featuring the Goldmaxx Power dvd is also a good dvd to watch on the Goldmaxx
