This was the perfect note to end on, not a tryhard grimdark unfinished followup. In the first stinger, he embraces the name of Big Boss out of rejection of being Snake any longer, knowing he was abandoned. In this one, after Paz, after how he realized he couldn’t even trust Miller, he’s finally pissed beyond the breaking point. This is where he *_becomes_* Big Boss, the man who decided if the world would reject him, he would *_force_* his place in it. Everything after that tells itself.

If you have No ideology you have no pursuit in the first place. No message No speech, no structure. I know what what snake was doing but you cant escape it if you are on the world stage persistenting an agenda. We all want to be free from control. It's like the Soviets wanted to get rid of class structure, in a sense they were challenging nature, the pecking-order, or itself. How you have the leader and the followers. This is where the soviet union struggled with power through killings to take the seat of power. I know that communism doesn't work, but I know why they wanted to get rid of class system by heart that isolated people differently, ruled and used. Same with Snake, he wants to get rid of Zeroes control and his ideology, zero got him in the end. Winning by just hiding and having an AI to take its place over people. Something like a recycled process system but also self learning it's surroundings and data it collects. But as big boss was killed in 1999, it creeper up on zeros control and ideology in 2014, the constant repeat and recycled war economy, in a way.... the AI used Big boss ideal tactics to regulate people in a constant cycle of war. It eventually caved in on itself. In the real world, neoliberalism, the west ideology has shattered under the internet and exposure of alot of questionable practices of its principles and its repeatedness in that society demonstrated. Today it is complicity, but it's still an ideology that has its time. People want to be free from control, but also there is always going one way or anther going to have an ideology that people will follower, short tetm be great, but long term its the test of time of that cycle.

And then Kojima went and made Big Boss the most coward and vile of all the cast of the franchise. I mean, it was always supposed to be that way. But phantom pain handled it so poorly. I love venom snake as a character and he is a very good way to deal with the lore of a 30y old franchise. But Kiefer Sutherland just using a body double wasn't a good way to finish the saga. To me, metal gear died at ground zeroes. @@psycholonya I've listened to every tape, done every side op, and watched every cutscene including the scrapped ones, and I gotta be honest when I say MGSV was anything but an amazing story, especially in comparison to other metal gear titles. Kaz and Huey's characters were well done for the most part however even Kaz never gets a conclusion to his character arc, and at one point he just gets written out of the story in the ending of the second act. We essentially see Miller get revenge on Skullface, watch him begin to lose it over realizing he has nothing after getting revenge, and then that's it, he's gone. No huge revelation about his relations with Zero and Solid Snake, not to mention Eli and Ocelot barely have any interactions whatsoever despite the two literally fusing together by the ending of MGS4. I also don't understand why Kojima felt the need to introduce into the lore a 100+ year old immortal Navajo code talker who knows exactly who The Patriots are, and is in canon probably alive and well by the end of MGS4. Also, the majority of those tapes bored me to tears, it was a struggle getting through some of the extremely monotone ones where Ocelot yammers on about metallic archaea for 7 minutes straight. To call somebody stupid for not wanting to waste their precious time on this earth listening to like 6 hours of tape recordings is ridiculous. You wouldn't call somebody stupid if they didn't listen to every single codec call in MGS1, so why is it any different here?
