What you’re hearing is really from Tatiana! And if you might like to hear one of their really live recordings (without any vocal doubling or the like), I can totally vouch for “Who’s Gonna Be the One” (live) and “Perennial” (live from Wacken). And just as a preemptive heads-up: If you might like to pronounce “Wacken” like the locals, one would say “Vah-ken.” (In German, “W” is pronounced like a “V” is in English.) I’m only mentioning that part just since most folks seem to stumble over that one a bit.

@mickor trust me .... seen some who don't, Americans often aren't that educated (or interested even) on how some stuff is pronounced outside their little comfort sphere / territory, then again localised pronounciation can be a funny thing.... because in German for example Z is pronounced "ts" so Tarzan, Zoro etc sounds like Tartsan Tsoro etc....

You should listen the songs "Who's gonna be the one" and "Perennial" live to check them perform on stage. The first one it's a good choice if you want to hear mainly growling vocals from Tatiana, and "Perennial" for a more mixed melodic-growling song, where you can check also how she switches from both voices in a blink, and you can appreciate better her vocal skills and also the rest of the band.

This is only live-ish - I'll drop a link to a bootleg of this. The cleans have some layering added for nice subtle harmonies, and the growls are mostly if not all layered for maximum impact. But this is also only the edge of her low growls in their 3rd lightest song. Who Is Gonna Be The One official live is a classic performance video for them and shows off her low growls as of 2017 - they are even more bestial now. Perennial live at Wacken is another epic performance of a beautiful song with amazing cleans and some great growls too - the bit of evil she adds the last time she says "rise to live again" is something I've never seen her do in any other performance of that song and I've watched a lot of bootlegs.

Jeffrey. I have long wanted to ask you. Maybe you know what Tatyana’s red thread on her wrist means in this video? This is usually used to remind you of something or to combat bad habits. Can depression be considered a bad habit?
@Cellsius
4 жыл бұрын
@@ОлександрПапакуль Maybe I can answer that. As far as I know, that wristband is like an amulet to protect you from negative energy from other people or in general. It's also known for prevent depression (which Tatiana suffers occasionally), and the red it's becuase that color symbolizes personal strength and danger warning. It's probably that Tatiana knows that because she's wearing it in the left wrist, and that red wristband must be in the left wrist to work, not on the right. Of course, it's superstition and esoteric stuff, but as you were wondering, it have a meaning and it's not random. Hope I helped you.

It is a live recording, but there are some parts with added back tracking. you can hear some of her growls backed by a second track to make it bigger. pretty much every vocalist does this, so its definitely not taking anything away from how talented she is. as far as actually modulating her voice, maybe a little, but it couldn't be much because its live, so you would hear a portion of everything else in the room be effected by the same effects.

Broaden your tastes. Metal reactors who do this song and are shocked at her voice have clearly mainly listened to metal performed by singers wearing codpieces. Women have been doing this for ages, and plenty of them. They just invariably don't get the exposure, because historically while we may not like to admit it the metal scene has been very much male and narrow minded. Go listen to cerebral bore, landmine marathon, Spiritbox (Courtney's been slaying since Unicron) Employed to Serve, rolo tomassi etc etc.

This song and performance was my first experience of Jinjer, and the thing is, before hearing that, I hated screaming in metal. Always thought it ruined the song. After this.... I really like her screaming. Maybe it just took someone who is as talented and skilled at it as Tatjana to make me appreciate it. I still dislike most (not all, anymore) screaming in metal, but I like Jinjer. "Who is gonna be the one" - the live performance on stage, that one confirmed for me that she can really do what she does here... and go even lower and gnarlier. this is her, ofcourse. But people saying this is her exact sound and then refering to live shows, where her sound is not at all this, should really start paying attention.
