4 жыл бұрын
Issues is a great prog metal band. Their "recent experiment" on different genres is awesome and to be honest they are one of the best bands around right now. Their members have so much music experience, so they know what they're doing. This isn't their first time combining genres. I'm sorry they don't fit in your metal box 😂 I can respect your confusion but don't say they're shit. Each song they make is different and if that's your opinion, then it's okay to be close-minded.
@PigglyWigglyDeluxe
4 жыл бұрын
Issues is the best band on the scene right now. People hate being challenged. People hate change. People are so quick to say “new issues = shit” for example because they’re afraid to open their mind to what’s possible. The same old routine has been done over and over again. The dead horse has been beaten for years and we are all getting bored. Issues is exploring what’s new to do that might not be the same old bullshit we’ve all grown bored to see. If you like the same old boring riffs and breakdowns, that’s cool and all, but some of us people are getting super bored and are craving something new and fresh. Before shitting on it, consider opening your mind. Also, BMTH has always been ahead of the curve. Watch, the bands we know and love now are gonna be doing what BMTH did years ago, years from now.
@twinny_mi
4 жыл бұрын
@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe On point! I love all types of music so they fit! I mainly listen to metal and rock now and not so much pop anymore. I love breakdowns and riffs and clean and unclean vocals, but now the music isn't as good. Some of these artists that were popular during the peak of, say, metal/metalcore/post-hardcore/punk are trying to beat a dead horse, just like you said. Then you have new bands trying to hit big, or some bands just change their style all together. It's okay, it's the music scene. Obviously some of us don't like change, I know a few instances that change in music maybe wasn't the best, but well said dude!!
@ChasingPerhaps
4 жыл бұрын
@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe Issues didn't really change much which is the funny part. They've always been experimental, the new album is a natural progression but people just think that since Michael was dropped that the band is completely different now. People who think that way probably don't understand Issues to begin with. Beautiful Oblivion is fantastic.

I'm not a "old fan". I started listening to metal only like 6-7 years ago, and I had trouble listening to Shadow Moses at the time. By now, Shadow Moses has become my go to song, and I started to really enjoy screams and look for more heavy metal groups and song even if I'm more of a softie that likes metalcore more than heavy deathmetal. Therefore, I like Amo. I regret it wasn't heavier because I love the way Oli screams but I still think they produce good music. This song was incredible. We all knew BMTH were very good at doing whatever genre they set out to try.. Who knew they were so good at meshing it all together into one and making it work..

This song is unreal. The breakdown is unbelievably fun to play lol and honestly this is like a BMTH discography smushed into a 5 Minute song. Crazy.

A bit of a context (a brief summary, haven't watched a whole video) - Hideo Kojima apparently loves BMTH so much, that he showed a lot of their songs on Twitter, so that was kinda expected that they made a song for him, for his game - Death Stranding, which comes out 8th of November (my birthday, haha). Not really sure if it's OST or only promotional though.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this song. So catchy and that little bit of heavy stuff in there as well. Really like it. Hope they make an album like this. I like some songs off of amo, but sempiternal is probably one of my favorite albums ever. Im excited to see what they do in the future.

Every one of those songs only has over compressed quiet screams buried into the mix just to fill the blanks, not as part of the main vocal line. And ironically you didn’t mention the only song off amo that has an actual screaming segment, sugar honey ice and tea

This shit surprised me, but I was def shocked to find out this is for Death Stranding. Considering Sempiternal had "Shadow Moses" on it, you know these guys are fans of Metal Gear Solid and Kojima's work, which is why I gave them a solid chance in the first place (MGS/MGS2 being two of my fave games, play em both if you haven't). That's super dope they got to contribute to one of Kojima's games. Thanks for doing this vid, Nik, I might've passed on this track otherwise.
