Did you discuss cost or did I miss it? Great vid though, thanks!

Love the subject choice, good for photographers printing their work.

Ordered 1 of each recently in a pano scale. The metal feels legit and worthy of the price. I'm sure on a smaller size the acrylic may be more appealing

I worked with acrylic for 25 years. Acrylic tends to 'spider crack' over time. Most of the 'projects' made of acrylic we would take home would be tossed away after a few years because they would look completely cracked starting from the edge, every few mm, hundreds of cracks beginning to spider and run towards the center. They would also begin to fog. The image may never 'fade', but that's not the issue with acrylic's longevity. The acrylic stuff I have from more than 5-10 years ago look more like halloween decorations than pleasing. For that reason, I won't consider anything acrylic in any field. I don't trust it from my long term experience.

Hi there, it all depends on the type of Acrylic that is used, we use a UV protected cast acrylic vs an extruded acrylic. We have producing these HD Acrylic Prints for 7 years and have never had any of our acrylic prints crack nor fog up.

Have ordered both acrylic and metal prints from Artbeat. In my experience, virtually no difference in clarity and the metal was brighter. Also tried the metal paper printing - significantly less bright. Metal is the clear winner.

Oh good one PT. I have wondered this myself. I have metal prints in my home and wondered how acrylics are different. I never have ordered any, mainly because I thought they looked the same. But now that you explained. I see, but also feel metal prints will continue to work for me. Thank you though, excellent video.

Acrylic looks nicer on this video, but the comments below regarding longevity are concerning. Thanks for the info!

I agree. When Alex first held up both, I picked what turned out to be the acrylic, for having better color saturation and darker blacks. Comparatively, the metal print looked a little flat.

I too picked the acrylic. The background looked less blurred, more sharp and colors more vibrant (ever so slightly). I’m looking at a very very vibrant piece of art so that is most important to me! Acrylic it is! :)

Can’t tell you how many times I received a metal print that was dented or bent around the frame on the back. As someone who resells prints I’ve ordered it’s a huge pain to deal with a customer receiving a damaged product. With customers waiting over a month at times I’ve started to recommend acrylic now, because to have them wait that long to receive a damaged product just ends up being a poor experience for my customers. I will say Artbeat always makes it right and has legendary customer service but you just can’t get time back

Interesting. Not my experience at all. I've ordered many metal prints from Artbeat Studios and all of them were perfect. The large ones even came in wooden crates... no way they would ever get dented or bent. Metal, with the standard white gloss finish, is my go-to for prints.

@@steveburkhart8500 I’ve place 23 orders with Artbeat, the largest of which was 14 prints. Out of all these orders it was probably 5-7 issues I’ve had with them. All though I’d like to reiterate that they made it right and the process was very easy. The customer service has always been amazing. Yes many of them have come in wooden crates and that did not prevent damage. It’s tricky because they do not control the price I resell mine for. So if a customer is paying $2,000 for a print it needs to be flawless, so even the smallest of defects/ damage or flaws isn’t acceptable. The metal ones tend to either crease near a corner or the frame they adhere to the back. While they never refused to help the customer on my end still has to wait. Acrylic doesn’t bend like metal does. I’ve switch to acrylic for that reason. Also I don’t like the detail loss of dye sublimation (some prints it’s a non issue)

@@steveburkhart8500 That's great Steve. I have had a couple of dented prints arrive from ArtBeat but it's more of a UPS issue than there packaging. They never have you send them back like the video said, but they want to see photos of the issue. Sounds like you like the gloss and I used to always order that as well, but my standard metal print for sell (from ArtBeat) for the last year has been their White Satin finish. It's a good mix between Pop and non-reflective. I have installed numerous prints in the past for clients and in Restaurants, and then notice that there's simply too much reflections from interior lights and outside windows. I do a lot of proposals now for fine homes and businesses and sometimes I even suggest the White Matte finish. Walls beside Dining Room tables/fixutes is good for Matte. I[ve used ArtBeat for a few years now and they have tremendous quality and CS.
