Hey guys, I hope you enjoy this one! Make sure you check out Restoration Design & 914 Rubber! Links below:😎😎😎

CT... Great progress! She's a little crispier than she looked last episode! I'd make one recommendation on your bracing. I'd run a piece of angle from the top of the windshield post down to the back of the brace you have welded in. Then I'd run a piece from the rear lower corner of the door opening to the middle of the brace you have welded on. The 'X' will keep the door opening from moving around on you. It's a huge pain to re-square a door opening that has moved. My Ghia taught me to weld that opening as stiff as you can weld it BEFORE you cut everything apart.
@fredsons
Yeah….just gotta keep pushing. And BTW you don’t have a boss standing over you looking at his watch, tapping a foot. This is the most drama dramatic CT video to date! And that is a compliment…..a little trick to make us want to watch the next. I was sweating bullets and trying to manage my acid indigestion!
@Leima1
OMG, I can understand if you leave this project as spare parts.
@gailmonaghan7786
Rather than spend so much on restoring the body, isnt there a bit better body around to buy and use this one as parts.
@franciscojosepellegrino2553
This job scares more than kids on Haloween 😂😂😂
@PauloLima-bm3eo
A needle gun works marvellous to remove the rust, and the factory protective coating
@MichaelMcFearin
That 914 has more compost than a modern 911 lol thanks for not giving up on this little girl.
@staceystephens4772
Wow, if ever there was a good candidate for rust removal dipping, this 914 has to be it ! Just the labor savings alone would make it pay.
@samuelgarcia5647
I wish this was a 911 you were working on. My favorite car.
@samwalton4598
You ought to have that beast dipped and rust treated. It would save a lot of time and stop all rust. You’ll end up with a solid longer lasting car. The main thing is stop the rust and clean it up for easier repair.
@dolf1010
Wow , rust everywhere 😳
@deebee3901
What a nightmare. Good to see you remaining positive and motivated - can't wait for more!
@kevindiggs9261
Work in progress.. I brought 914-6 w//911 engine. What you have accomplished has inspired me.. thanks! 🤩🎇🎆🥳
@cheftush
Hi CT, next time on the undercoating, try using a heat gun and a flexible metal scraper. Comes off quite easy. Once you have most of it off, you can clean up the remaining residue with brake cleaner and a rag. Love this series.
@jurgenkuhlmann9194
OMG! This body looks as if it was eaten by some unknown Chinese metal - eating moth! Even the 1965 vintage Beetle looked better from the outside!
@clinttally3216
My anxiety level has been pegged watching these vids. You have some major cajones my friend. Love the 914. Had one when I was in high school and sold it to pay a debt..... regretted ever since
@backyardkombi5466
CT I hope this one is worth it. That’s a heck of a lot of metal to replace. Good luck with whatever you choose and I’ll be watching from the other side of the continent.
@helgedell
Just realized that I have been following you for four years. It has been a long ride, with one thing in common: no finished projects. I think you deserve to be honored with a diagnose. It could be called "CTism", and be described as "Fear of finishing projects". I say this with "tongue in cheek", but feels partly true :)
@richardhill4862
You should take us along when you go out and find donor parts, because that's part of the fun. Really good camera angles when working with the 1/4 panel and rockers. You'll make it, just keep going.
