Most often people are not interested in movie soundtracks and who did them. Just because we know who Ennio Morricone is and what he did we can't pretend that everybody knows him. It would be presumptuos from us to do that! There are great asian writers, movie makers and artists that Europe and Italy in particular, doesn't have any idea who they are, how would you feel if Chinese or Corean people would react saying we are ignorant because we haven't heared about them? I appreciate the fact that he is making all these reactions and is willing to listen what he is being asked to. Dovreste apprezzarlo anche voi, e ricordare che i grandi talenti italiani non sono diventati famosi perché prepotenti ma perché hanno condiviso con cuore e umiltà il loro talento.

Ennio Morricone is one of the greatest composers of the 1900s. He wrote the soundtracks of several important movies, including those of Sergio Leone like "Once upon a time in America" and Spaghetti Westerns. Italian composers wrote the soundtracks of many important American movies. Giorgio Moroder wrote the "Scarface" one. Nino Rota wrote the "Godfather" trilogy one.

@@gianfalco8527 Dulce Pontes has a wonderful voice, and I thank you on behalf of all for having brought this beautiful version, but I prefer the original sung by Edda Dell'Orso, both for the quality of her voice and above all because (in my opinion) in this piece does not fit the lyrics, even if it works as a simple song in reality the vocal part makes sense especially if the voice is treated as a musical instrument, as Morricone had conceived it. Great reaction and emotionally heartbreaking for me. One of the best movie soundtracks. I love the music of meastro Ennio Morricone. He did globally around 500 movie soundtracks. Wow. Btw, this music isn't necessarily just for the wealthy. Years ago (2015 or 2016) before Ennio died (RIP), I did go to a concert at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam along with a friend of me and we saw a variation of ages in the concert-hall. Just like my friend and me we also saw many other working class people (with normal salary and just saving some monthly income to afford these type of events/concerts). Maybe this type of music was for the wealthy people ages ago but nowadays there are many people interested in this and re-discovering it. Both young and old.

Hi Angelo! This rendition is so magical, love your reaction. And Yes, it is a movie soundtrack! From wikipedia: "'Nuovo Cinema Paradiso' is a movie from 1988 written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore. The international movie version 123' (minutes) won the special Grand Prix of the Jury at the festival of Cannes in 1989 and the Oscar for Best Foreign movie." That movie soundtrack has 23 songs (3 of them composed by Ennio Morricone's son Andrea) And many compositions from Morricone's genius have been adapted with lyrics, this one in particular you reacted to has that. kzitem.info/news/bejne/1rCYm3p3pWuFe3Y Here you get to listen to the lyrics written by Josh Groban (in italian) the title is "Se", and this performance is done by the guys from IL VOLO (i think i mentioned them another time in another video, they won Sannremo in 2015 and went to Eurovision that same year with a splendid song of theirs) Anyway Il Volo did a whole tribute concert to Ennio Morricone this year, singing the most famous soundtracks the Maestro did for great classical movies (mainly spaghetti westerns) you can actually find more clips on youtube like the one i linked above! It's an Experience and i think you can enjoy it fully on Rai's platform without the need to sign up. Give it a try! I hope you can see it! www.raiplay.it/programmi/ilvolo-tributoaenniomorricone EDIT: In the video i linked above, the Director of the Orchestra is Andrea Morricone, the son!

I remember when I was a kid and I was trying to record a drumkit...I might have used 5-6 microphones and every channel bleeded into the next. Granted I had no idea what I was doing and I got a cheap crappy microphone set...I was pretty much set for failure. Looking at this video, there must be several dozens of microphones on that stage, and it must have been hell to set them up so perfectly. Surely everybody on that stage and those who worked for them are masters in their own craft, but it still amazes me how some recordings like this are so perfect.

Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, Oscar-winning New Paradise Cinema is the incredible cross-section of the history of cinema, the true characters of life, the passing of the history of cinema, penetrated by an impossible love, a film that can't help but make you cry. The Pianist is Gilda Buttà the woman who play all the songs in The Legend of 1900 (the hands you see playing in the movie are not the hands of Tim Roth, by the hands of Gilda Buttà). P.S. There is a great difference between a pop musician and a composer like Morricone. Once a journalist asked to him how he get the inspiration and he answered "inspiration? When I have to write a song, I take a pentagram, a pen and I write". A composer writes the music like I'm writing this comment or an author write a lyric, knows the grammar, the semantic, the syntax and the Stylistic devices. A composer talk with his music.

There's a very talented guy called Jacopo that uses to play his electric guitar on a rooftop facing piazza Navona, that is one of the most beautiful squares in Rome. Last year, during the very first heavy lock down in Italy, he played 'Deborah's theme' (to me the best of Morricone) while piazza navona was totally empty.. you can imagine how beautiful, touching and unreal it's been. You know ennio morricone’s music for sure because he made the iconic soundtracks of all the Sergio leone spaghetti western movies like the good the ugly and the bad (I think this is the right traduction) with Clint Eastwood... there are some parts of his music that have been sampled in a lot of modern song, you’ve heard them for sure, but you do not know who made them... he also won a lot of oscars for the soundtracks also a Oscar for the carrier

Hi Ang, you must watch the duellist scenes of Sergio Leone "Spaghetti Western" movies like "For a fistfull of dollars", "for a few dollars more", "the good the bad and the ugly", "once upon time in the west" for a complete enjoyment of Morricone sound (and Leone's visuals too). Here he gave some suggestion for the later west coast psychedelic sound. Starrings are topnotch actors like Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, Gian Maria Volontè, Eli Wallach, Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda.
