Update: I just want to say that I have never received this many comments on anything that I've made throughout my entire life! I want to thank you all for just doing that. As well as all the positive encouraging comments that have "moved" me towards gaining a brighter future. Unfortunately, sadly, after 336 days of sobriety, I have once again relapsed on alcohol following the break up of a 2-year long situationship(Yes, situationship. That means I never even got the chance to meet her in person for a date.) As I am writing this comment, I am confirming now that I've already stopped drinking and have begun a new sobriety date. I will post an update video soon on the result of my sobriety. Until then, stay blessed, stay happy 😊

I think Amy died from alcohol poisoning. She'd been sober and fell off the wagon, and like many addicts who relapse whatever drug they are addicted to, she thought she had the same tolerance level. Please be careful guys. Just remember the tolerance you had by the time you stopped took AGES to build and disappears pretty quickly.

Huh! Her blood alcohol was 3.0. NOT .03, or .30, but 3.0. At her tiny weight and high tolerance, that wouldn't have been impossible. Acute poisoning. I'd just like to have been her friend and hugged her. She has such a vulnerability about her.

My AA big book has many dates scratched out. I relapsed after 6 months with alcohol. I thought I was the only one who just couldn’t get it. I kept going. The last date I wrote was 11/11/2011. I haven’t had to scratch it out yet. It’s possible. Stick with it. What have you got to lose?

Amy stated that through her youth, her father played a lot of Frank Sinatra. She grew up with this music implanted within her. It's haunting that these Spirits come, stay long enough to give us gold and long before they're old...they're gone onto another journey. So many to even try and deny. She's another in that unexplainable 27 Club.

3.5 years here....after hiding it the entire 23 years I was marrièd I was terrified to ask for help. After a heart attack at 46 years old and being diagnosed with crohns disease after landing in ICU it was time. My husband held me so tight and cried with me for hours. Within a week I was in detox and continue to go to my recovery center for random drug screens so i will be held accountable. Still dont trust myself most days but my life has changed dramatically for the better. Dont give up! You'd be surprised how many people care. The stigma has to stop.❤

Hey Nigel! Thanks for sharing! I'm sorry you drank and or used yesterday, but remember, you just have today. Because you drank after so many months of sobriety, means nothing for today. We only need to be sober one day at a time. Get yourself into a good meeting so you have support. Do ninety meetings in ninety days. See if you can find a sponsor if you don't have one already. Don't be discouraged. The fact that you drank just means you needed to do a little more investigating before you realized that you truly want to be sober. I can hear it in your voice!! You got this! I know you do!

I get to the point at the end, I promise! Please read to the end. 😂 I went to 7 months of AA meetings daily to support a friend. Then I went to weekly Alanon meetings which were MY people (I have zero interest in alcohol or drugs). So I have heard the stories from alcoholics. My Alanon group (4 women) literally gave me an actual laundry basket FULL of speaker cassette tapes.😂😂😂 they were mostly AA speaker tapes, some Alanon. I listened to them all and many are available free on KZitem. Father Tom is my favorite. Very funny guy! EVERYONE relapses. EVERYONE. It is part of the process of sobriety. You relapse. You start again, one day at a time, one nanosecond at a time. It’s okay. You relapse. You start again. Someone with 45 years can relapse. Even if someone never drinks but they spend 45 years as a dry drunk angry and irritated all the time, that’s NOT sobriety. It’s all about sobriety. Listen to speaker tapes. Binge on speaker tapes and the AA and Alanon literature. NA too if that’s more relatable. I really enjoyed all of it. The big book of AA is awesome too! I loved Lois’s tapes (bill W.’s wife). The slogans help!!!! One day at a time. The serenity prayer. H. A. L. T. Am I hungry? Am I angry? Am I lonely? Am I tired? Hungry: eat something healthy. Protein. Drink water. Angry: breathe deeply, swim, put on soothing music, sing, ride a bike, run, fresh air, surf, watch cartoons, etc. Lonely: call your sponsor first. Chat with new friends. Go bowling. I’m an introvert so I’m happy alone! Tired: take a nap. Sleep. Rest in a hammock. Watch more cartoons.😂

If you love Amy who had a jazz background...I can guarantee you will love the voice of Angelina Jordan try NOW IM THE FOOL. This 17 year old has written a sultry soulful jazzy origional with a funky vintage pop beat and great lyrics. It'd my current favourite song by any living female solo artist. People like to compare her to Amy but coming straight off listening to Amy you will clearly see the differences, and in my personal opinion the comparison does not disadvantage either. Angelina is a deeply compassionate person it comes out in a warmer tone. I love Amy. I think getting into Angelina her story and life will be inspiring in a different way. I have heard many people who have followed her since she was a child testify to the healing quality of her emotional voice. She gave away her shoes to an orphan with scarred feet when she was 6 and has not performed in shoes since Her career began with her NGT audition at 7 years old with GLOOMY SUNDAY also known as the Hungarian suicide song. Then dhe performed BANG BANG in the semi final and Summertime for her win. She has used her success yo help raise millions for children's charities. She has had an adult sounding voice since a tiny child and has a devoted international fan base called Angels. Please give her a go.

I highly recommend the Keto Diet to anyone trying to kick alcohol. Alcohol is turned into sugar in your liver, sugar is a carbohydrate that is addicting. Most people don't consider overeating an addiction, I know that it is. And Keto has freed me from the craving, restlessness, and anxiety, maybe it can help free you from alcohol. It's worth a try. I subscribed, nice to meet you!

It's all true what Amy says in this iconic song...some people around her at the time suggested she go to re-hab to try & beat her drink & drug addictions, but her father told her she was fine and didn't need to go. She was such a wonderfully talented singer and such a tragic loss to all of us who loved her. ❤ 🙋♂
i know her alcohol level was high at the time she died, even she used to consumed more than that in the deep of her addiction. alcohol wasnt the only thing that killed her, it was her BULIMIC/EATING DISORDER. her body was too weak after all of her self-destructive behaviour in her troubled years! 😢 i cant imagine how churn her soul was....

This is my first time to see your channel. You're awesome! You are definitely not alone my friend. Eight years ago, I lost my husband due to liver failure caused by his constant drinking. It was a horrible death and gut-wrenching to have to watch him die that way. In my opinion, it is the worst of addictions because it's completely legal and socially acceptable to drink. It's a hard demon to kick to the curb, but it can be done! My current boyfriend happens to be ex-husband #2 (over 20 years between then and now!). He also used to drink. He quit in 2000 and hasn't looked back. It is extremely difficult, but YOU CAN DO THIS. Love yourself more than you love the alcohol - you are SO worth it!!!! Peace, love, and healing to you, my Metal brother.❤

I did never great music, did'nt anything great for the planet and struggled with slight alcohol overdosing for the last 30 years. Still living at age 51. There is a way of descision by universe. Maybe I'm next tomorrow. Her way was just too excessive! I'm no Believer, but may god be with her. She was the best after the godfathers, pink floyd, led zeppelin , deep purple, janis joplin, queeen, and so much more. Between them and her was a big gap. And nobody actually is able to get close to this or carry on with "real music"!!! Give me a greater Name, no Lady Gaga, she's great but other genre.

Tony Bennet, so talented, so experienced, compadre with many of the old-time fabulous musicians did a song with Amy. He praised her talent as special, up there with the greats that he'd co-existed with. He knew the loss of incredible talent to addictions. He lamented the death of Amy to drugs. She was exceptional yet a death to drugs is ordinary. Sad. One day at a time. Acknowledge a higher power. Be humble. Be grateful. All the best.
