Was reading about this song, I think on Wikipedia, and Cliff Burton one night was watching the movie The Ten Commandments, which is on ABC now, and he was inspired to write the song by the green smoke creeping across the land and killing all first born males, except the houses that had lamb's blood around the door.

Yes, it’s about the destroyer Moses told Pharaoh, that their God was sending - to kill the firstborn of all Egypt, including his own son, because he wouldn’t let his people go. (It’s in the movie and the words “so it is written, so it is done” comes from the mean decrees of Pharaoh towards the Israelites.)

The last statement of your comment is unnecessary. Not to claim to be an old man myself, but as you get older, you'll understand the general impossibility of comparing generation-dependent waves of music as better or worse.

Best part is. This fits perfect to the world today. Were slaves. To our job to our beliefs to our desires to our comfort to our survival to our bosses to our syates to our goverbment to the rivh businessmen. We are not free we are free range. The difference being we are still used to farm money for them at the end of the the free range humans all end up in the slaughterhouse of the theatre of war. The pharohs never left they just changed their names and titles

why have they not made a song about sampson seriously. That dude was metal, he killed an army of 1 thousand with the jawbone of a donkey all by himself. And also in the bible it trait up said that he never cut his hair so yeah my statement is justified.

I have always kinda felt as if "Creeping Death" should have been the final track on this album. It actually sounds very good when "The Call Ktulu" starts playing right after "Escape", and then is followed by "Creeping Death" afterwards.
