Rokas Lape exactly, and they know it, because ive been to 2 concerts one in 2006 and in 2013, both of which 95% were older stuff(the better stuff). they dont force anything the crowd doesnt want, just enough for promotional purposes :D

+slenderbc07 Rob is the mst talented PLAYER they have ever had, dave is good and all but he is best as a rythm guitarist and his lead is subpar ron i havent heard him enough to make a decision but CLiff he was a great writer but his playing was rather sloppy Jason was a decent player but he was nothing special Rob he is one of the best bassists i know of currently and Lars is self explanatory JAmes is really good and kirk does the job

It really cracks me up how everyone rags on Lars drumming...yeah, technically hes not the best...but he has incredible drive and energy and I could not imagine Metallica without him...Quadruple paradiddles are nice and all that...but give me a guy who puts every ounce of his being into the music 100% and youve got a killer drummer...I think he kicks ass...!!

It's not about paradiddles or technical shit. It's about GROOVE for a beat/song like Orion. Just listen to the original track and then listen to Lars' drums here. I don't normally bag on Lars, but it's almost unlistenable. There is no groove whatsoever. It sounds like every measure is a different tempo, and then on top of it he's adding all sorts of unnecessary fills. This is the worst I've ever heard him sound.

Not many would share my opinion on this but I could give a shit less. Orion is my all time favorite Metallica song. Not to mention its on my all time favorite record of theirs. This was awesome. But I wish I could time travel back to when Cliff was alive and see that shit live. The feeling I had after I lost my cherry is very similar to the feeling I had the first time I heard this song. More specifically the first time I heard that beautiful bass solo. Fucking awesome. We were all very much cheated from an exceptional talent when Cliff died. RIP Cliff. Much love.

In his defense, a lot of musicians dress up songs when playing them live from the studio versions. Granted it's not as prevalent for drummers to do it as guitarists but if it makes the song sound better than why not.
