Just a quick 1, the fishery pellets u were using looked like coppens pellets, these soften much faster and are very light in colour, if you buy the skrettings pellets they are much darker and far more resiliant more like ur aquastim or sonubaits type pellets.

I have come to to realise there are a number of factors that will determine how big of a fish you can get in on light tackle. It’s rare I fish anything less than 10lb mainline and 9lb hooklengths these days. With that I have had carp to 14+ and I’m confident that I could land a carp of 20lb+ but it also depends how open the swim is, are you fishing next to snags or have you got room to let the carp run and have your clutch set lighter! Many factors

A bomb is just a small lead, typically fished with a slightly longer hooklength. A method feeder has an area for bait to go for added attention 👌🏻 but very similar techniques.
@josephquinn7356

@@WestysAngling thanks. Do you fish it like a method feeder (do you surround the lead with pack bait into a bait ball and cast it out), or do you just use your chosen hook bait as the only bait/attractant?

You'll get quicker bites if you put the hook in the mould first then put pellets over top. That way your hookbait will Allways be showing instead of needing it to fall apart ( potentially not at all ) underwater and hiding your hookbait 👍

Excellent video, informative and entertaining. I like that peg at Limbrick and fish just one rod as two in that tight space is a bit fiddly for me. All the three areas Westy was fishing show how it is important to move around to find the fish. Don’t think there is much difference between the pellets more about getting them into the right spot. Great video as usual Westy👍 was wondering if you can offer some advice on how to tell if your ground bait is the right consistency? Here in the States we don't have access to pre-packaged ground bait unless we find it online (even then it's very confusing and difficult to figure the right consistency on your own (not to mention the age-old question “what to use in your mix of ground bait to attract the carp and keep them coming to your swim?”. Last question; do you think the ground bait mixture will be different in the States vs. European venues? Thanks so much for teaching me along my journey so many strategies and tactics to become a better carp angler👍
@WestysAngling
Жыл бұрын
If you have access to pellets, grind them up in a blender to be a powder, that’s all Groundbait is ! And you mix it just wet though that it binds together firmly, but not so firm that it doesn’t break up. To be honest I would use bread blended ! It’s better than Groundbait and cheap ! It probably a is a bit different between countries ! 🎣
