That's some real talk on how the conscious rappers were basically (what seems to be) pushed underground. I mean in all reality when you look at it when it comes to entertainment from radio, TV, now internet, it all promotes sex, violence, & drugs in a manner that seems to basically glorify the lifestyle. Meanwhile the leaders & teachers that once dominated mainstream you don't hear unless you search to find. It is a few out of many every once & a while that's new. But seriously I feel that gangster rap should be labeled in its own genre. Not saying its bad cause I listen to it. I am very diverse with what I listen cause I can relate to it.. I'm not saying that it's bad but it's most Definitely a BIG DIFFERENCE from the KRS One, Public Enemy, & Wu-Tang Era. Even before that in the beginning of hip hop you didn't hear whole albums like we started hearing in the mid to late 80s. I feel it really DESERVES TO BE IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN.
