How realistic is that pad compared to actual quads? I'm debating buying those or Vic Firth Quadropad

Julian Klimczyk If you’re going to go with one of the Xymox pads and can afford it, try to get the new tenor kicks if those are up your ally. I can’t afford one of them and I’m interested to know what other people think of them.

Steven, what are your thoughts on French vs. American grip on tenors? What were you taught by your teachers?

American all the way. French is too wrist limiting and there are too many trade offs for it to be worth it. Some teachers say it is acceptable in certain scenarios but I think those scenarios are too broad. Great question. I have a video on this very topic coming soon :)

@@TheQuadMethod thanks for responding! I am a percussion director in Houston, TX and have been watching your videos to refresh my knowledge as I have been out of the game for a couple of years. Much appreciated.

Is that playing surface like rubbery? I ordered the pad and I kinda want to know

Yes, it is made of recycled rubber. Prologix is going in an eco-friendly direction with it's production and getting away from laminate is part of that vision.
