Mam in case of normal plantar response do we see 3rd 4th &5th component (ankle dorsiflex , knee flex & tensor fascie lata contraction )Or these r exclusive to Babinski sign or extensor planter ?

No we don’t......this is what the physiology behind this sign is ......ie once the inhibitory control of the corticospinal tract is lost, the sensory stimulus does not stay restricted to the S1 Dermatome, but spreads beyond it to L4-5

Thank u mam ! I read Bickerstaff which also says the same thing but one of our medicine prof told that 3rd ,4th & 5th components r there in normal plantar also -- that's created confusion .
