They really should grade separate the diamond crossings on the Northwest line (the MD-N/UP-NW diamond as well as the diamond in Des Plaines with CN and another UP line). It would increase train speeds on that line

There’s a lot that Metra could do to increase speeds on all their lines. Wish they would take an initiative to try and do what GO in Toronto is doing

Given it’s running center track inbound, this is an early morning weekday train. I don’t know what schedule changes have occurred since this was filmed, but according to the May 30 schedule, there are only two trains with stops in Crystal Lake and run center track - train 614 lv CL at 5:55am arrive 7:02 and train 628 lv CL at 6:55, arrive 8:02. It’s hard to tell which even looking at the timing of the outbound trains. Although the Kennedy Expressway is still moving inbound and the station isn’t full with trains, I would guess this is the earlier train.
