Many flooding on streets roads are due to 2 things, no once a yearly sewage clean-up and a very badly engineered constructed Michigan Sewage System, in Ohio, the sewer grates ,for those that have traveled on Toledo/Maumee/Sylvania streets like Alexis,Sylvania, laskey,Reynolds,Secor,Talamedge,Navarre,Monroe etc , are three times the size, grates are on Curbs and edge of street, preventing clogging and large enough to let in much more rain water than in Michigan. The sewer systems are yearly cleaned and checked in Ohio. Also, many of the homes in the City of Toledo , constructed alot higher above street level and above sidewalk level, front lawns much higher than public sidewalks, many and more homes older than what is in the City of Detroit, alot of homes constructed before 1900. Also Toledo,Maumee,Sylvania ,Perrysburg,Rossford etc much more of a watershed area than Detroit, many more creeks and streams and rivers than detroit area. Also too many underpasses in Detroit area ,Toledo area have almost none.Michigan needs to re-engineer its entire sewage drainage system stop blaming mother nature, even the Romans had better engineered water sewage systems than Michigan.
