Thank you so mutch! I love that update, especially the 1V/oct tracking for the aux inputs is extremly nice!

Are there any thoughts/plans for micro-tuning/alternate/user-provided scales?

What do you nerds use for the calibration "1volt and 0v source" ? I don't have the uScale (or a midi-to-CV converter) but I have.... a new second Metropolis, a Triatt, two Dixie2+ (plus 3 other VCO/brands), an ADDAC Intuitive Quantizer, a BeatStep Pro, and an AJH V-Scale (good buffered mult) ......plus a good Fluke 189 portable voltmeter. (no DAW) ( btw, I'm not going to "calibrate anything", unless it really needs it........ If it works, I won't "fix " it.)

You could do this with the Triatt and the ADDAC Quantizer. Use a unipolar channel on Triatt and turn it down all the way to produce 0V, select only C on the quantizer, turn up the quantizer until it jumps an octave to produce 1V. Does that make sense? Reach out to support@intellijel.com if you need more detailed help.

I have to do the calibrate every power cycle other wise the aux input do not do anything. is this normal or am i missing something to save the calibration?

There's instructions in the firmware updater app available on the Intellijel website here: intellijel.com/support/ You'll need one of their USB ISPs to do the update. That's available here: intellijel.com/shop/accessories/usb-isp/

Is it possible to do the calibration with a Umidi?
@ScottMFR
5 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you need to make sure you play notes that correspond to 0V and 1V. You can configure this with the online utility, but by default C4 sends 3V so you would want to play C1 for 0V and C2 for 1V.

Can I use an Analog Four to perform the calibration procedure?
@ScottMFR
6 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed reply, but yes, you should be able to do this. You just need to make sure you're sending 0v and then 1v. If you set a CV channel to v/oct and set middle C to 0v, then play your middle C, and play C one octave up.

ScottMFR Thank you so much! I think a did the calibration with the A4 in other way, but I will try this because maybe it is more precise.

Oh OK cool. Did you use the Linear CV setting? That would work too. As long as you get those 0v and 1v signals into the Aux ins with the attenuators turned up you should be fine.

why faders on the pitch and pulse count on the metropolis? I rather encoders, less space, more compact and faster transitions.

If I ordered new today would it come pre updated?
@ScottMFR

If you order it from the Intellijel store at this point it should have version 1.36. If you order from a retailer it would depend on how long they've had the unit in stock. I imagine they should be able to check for you if you ask.

Can you explain the calibration for volt per octave more with the modules you mentioned? I have them but don’t understand what to do...
@ScottMFR

Hi Munro Music, sorry it wasn't totally clear. We didn't want to focus too much on such a specific use-case scenario because we knew not everyone would have those particular modules. 1. Start by connecting the output of a Triatt/Quadratt in Unipolar mode to the input of µScale. Now if the Triatt/Quadratt knob is fully attenuated you know it will send 0v so you can use this as the first stage of the calibration. µScale should show this as a C 2. Turn up the Triatt/Quadratt knob. You should see µScale going up through the selected notes and you can stop once it hits C an octave above the previous one at 0v. Now you can use this for the second stage of the calibration. 3. Have fun with your calibrated Metropolis! Hope that helps...
