We have a lot of issues in Mexico, we are very far to be the country we would like to be. But damn, I feel so lucky to be a mexican, to have born and grow up in this country has been a blessing. We have so much culture and so much history and so much heart, I just feel so proud and happy to see this kind of stuff and say "Yes, that's my country right there"

That's right Juan. Every country has its share of problems and no problems are "worse" than another (unless you're talking about war-torn countries like Syria, Yemen, etc). Mexico has A LOT to be proud of, to protect, to cherish and to share with the world. It's smart to acknowledge the problems that exist because that's how they slowly start receiving attention and governments are "forced" to find solutions (and the citizens must contribute to those solutions) but that should never take away from you feeling proud of your country and proud to be Mexican. Thank you for the comment! :)

Such a wonderful video. One additional detail I find lovely is that the bell in palacio nacional that is used during el grito is the "campana de dolores". The whole celebration is about the commemoration of when the independence movement began on the night of September 16, 1810. The priest Miguel Hidalgo used the Dolores town church's bell to call people to fight for their independence. He was carrying a flag with the Virgen of Guadalupe. The bell used back then is the one now in Palacio Nacional. Independence was actually achieved on September 27, 1821, 11 years later. During the 150 celebration, 33 replicas where created and send to each one of the 32 capitals of the states, and one more sent to the original church of Dolores known now as "cuna de la independencia".

Thank you for your kindness words and I can’t get over of the tone of your voice is to describe this amazing celebration which indeed is one of a kind and that I wish everyone should be able to experience at least once in their live because the tremendous positive vibe that you will get to being among thousands of people will stick with you forever, sometimes we forget how precious is to have freedom in this world is and how wonderful los Mexicanos are to always open their arms to receive people from all around the word and most important from the countries who had committed the most horrific atrocities against Mexicans, many of us have forgiven them and we extend our arms and hearts to them to say welcome and mi casa es tu casa, and to be honest México is another completely amazing world that invites everyone to live and enjoy their short or long staying in our homes. Awww what a gem videos you made!!! The Independence celebration it's a celebration not just a holiday! as you can see we honour that day. Since we are kids we have in the schools every Monday a ceremony of "Honores a la bandera", it takes place in the open area of the school, 6 of the most diligent students do the same what you saw in the video with the flag, we sing the national anthem, it is also a special legacy for the flag that we said and in special occasions we remember historical heroes or situations depending of the day. It's very important for us the meaning of Mexico, flag, heroes, etc... we learned and we celebrated every week since kids. I hope this traditions continue always!! Viva Mexico!! :)
