This makes my day, Anton and Andrew are legends to me. MGMT got a lot of people into the psych genre and Anton is just a mad genius. Thanks for the hours of entertainment over the years lads

I figure a lot of people watching this are watching it for the guy from MGMT since they are a much more popular band. I have nothing against them, they are better than most popular bands, but the people calling Anton just some douche must have no idea who he is. This guy has released over 12 full-length albums in the past 20 years including many EPs, live albums and compilations as well as playing on other people's stuff and soundtracks. I've seen the documentary DiG! about his band and during the 90s and early 2000s he really was a douche then because he was a heroin addict. He's matured much and is a very wise person now, just watch some of his interviews. Not saying you have to like him, but you gotta respect this guy. He's been independently been releasing music Andrew can only wish to someday make for over 20 years.

He was being a bit mean to his girlfriend/fiancee or whatever, but I think he was just annoyed that she kept piping in during his interview with a popular musician.

HerrBrewer Love Anton's music, he's definitely a genius on that area. Personality wise, I think he's a sweet person who loves himself a bit too much. I've watched almost every interview of him and I still wouldn't call him a very wise man though. Too much fucking with other people during interviews, and just being plain drunk in general. He's a weirdly tortured artist like many other geniuses before him.

Adelaïde Branx It's shocking to me there is this fine line between disliking who you are and loving yourself 'too much'. Crazy. Personally I don't think that's possible. I think the more love you have for yourself the better. And I don't think loving yourself is what makes a person arrogant. Then again that's only your opinion - I just know that it's wrong
@damofalcon
9 жыл бұрын
Kelsey Jo Music My idea of loving yourself "too much" is when precisely there's a sense of superiority that emerges from this "love". We think we perfect so how can anyone criticize us ? If one does that, it simply proves he/she's beneath us . Moreover there's no room for improvement here, in our society self-loving becomes more and more valuable compared to self-improvement. Self-absorption destroys empathy, our problems become more important than any other outside our restrained world. If we try to expand these problems to the outside, the real world we can see how small our problems are. But also how we can relate together, and our capacity for connection and compassionate actions grows. The world cannot change for the better with people who love themselves too much, I know I don't love myself enough but I think that the truth, like most things in life, lies in balance. Saying you "just know that it's wrong" kinda proves my point.

Think about it though, the interviewer and his band are so underground, they have been around for 20yrs and no one knows about them, so the fact he was interviewing Andrew from MGMT( A very popular band) is cool because he's trying to show people whats up with the stuff he's been working on... Both bands are awesome!!

Yeah, but still. It's fine to find whoever in a band hot, but it just feels so irrelevant and kind of annoying when people comment that. It's like kids who say "I'm 14 and I listen to this" or "this must be crazy to listen to high". Who gives a fuck, you know? If it's about a band, keep it about the band. In this case, when all you see in the comments are "Andrew is so hot", it's discouraging to those that genuinely and actually dig the music/band and want to talk about THAT.
@TheSnowsbeauty5

I think the point of having Andrew and Ben there was to have MGMT fans watch this and then Anton (Newcombe) promotes his own stuff;)
