I saw this & started to cry. After my husband passed I stopped dancing. I miss dancing with him. Hold on to those moments bc it may be the only thing you will have when that person is gone.

I too lost my husband and I feel your pain 😢I actually put on my beloved obituary I will miss dancing with you 💕 So let's dance with them listening to the music we shared and yes these videos reminds us that we are in a club of still loving the ones we lost physically but they are still with us 💃

My mom and I are from NYC and we absolutely love watching these Stepping videos. She's a 50s baby and I'm a 70s baby and we both enjoy watching all the beautiful black people coming together to enjoy themselves, and looking damn good while doing so. I love to see our people well dressed, showing up and showing out at all ages and stages of life. The music and dancing is great as well. This is what you call a real grown and sexy but classy event. These people aren't old. They're well seasoned and still living and loving life. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you that is one of the nicest things I've heard said about Chicago Steppers and steppin. I'm one of those steppers I started stepping about age 13-14 years old and have been steppin approx 62 years. Steppin is an art it started out as bopping 50s & the 60s then to stepping and then we went to smooth steppin and we also had free style steppin and Walkin which had been around since the 50-60 era. About the late 80s & 90s it really broke out. There were stepping sets all over the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs and in the 90s we started having steppin contests with big money going to the winning couple who won I think the first prize was a $1000 dollars to present I believe $30,000 now and keeps growing .As with anything very popular it expanded to present day with people steppin from Chicago to California, New York, the dirty south the ATL I'm gonna say to at least 20 states maybe more I'm waiting for it to reach Europe and some of the Asian countries as well as countries like Brazil,South America and beyond . A creative dance became a culture created by Black Folk involving rhythm, steps, fluidity and it keeps growing . So you'll keep on steppin never let it die I won't . Also many of us say Steppin and some say Stepping it's all the same.😎🎶 💃🕺👠👞🎼
