Assassins Sheep We got two models of the 1.6 NA motor in the US, Short nose cranks were what they were initially shipped with (which I have) but in the middle of 1990 production year they switched to a long nose crank because some people had issues with the crank pulley snapping/ wobbling. I’m not sure of a horsepower difference related to that but it wouldn’t surprise me because of more weight on the crank

If you still had an exhaust on it would have made more power. The lack of back pressure can take any torque left on miatas.

@@Pheatan no Destroying a myth. Some say that "an engine needs backpressure to work correctly." Is this true? No. It would be more correct to say, "a perfectly stock engine that cannot adjust its fuel delivery needs backpressure to work correctly." This idea is a myth. As with all myths, however, there is a hint of fact with this one. Particularly, some people equate backpressure with torque, and others fear that too little backpressure will lead to valve burning. The first reason why people say "backpressure is good" is because they believe that increased backpressure by itself will increase torque, particularly with a stock exhaust manifold. Granted, some stock manifolds act somewhat like performance headers at low RPM, but these manifolds will exhibit poor performance at higher RPM. This, however does not automatically lead to the conclusion that backpressure produces more torque. The increase in torque is not due to backpressure, but to the effects of changes in fuel/air mixture, which will be described in more detail below.
@hitmixhyepock9405
4 жыл бұрын
@@Pheatan There clearly are situations where smaller diameter pipes can outperform larger diameter pipes but this is not because of back pressure. This is because of scavenging. And when tuned properly, scavenging actually reduces back pressure as seen by the engine. But be careful in the assumption that smaller automatically equals better performance. It is highly dependent on where the smaller diameter pipes are being used. Small pipes near the engine can be good for scavenging and power, but as the pipes move farther and farther away from the engine the effect of scavenging rapidly diminishes. If scavenging cannot be taken advantage of, then small/restrictive pipes must be completely avoided. Back pressure can only reduce power. Do not confuse this with scavenging. Scavenging actually reduces back pressure on a tuned cyclical basis.

If nobody else has helped you with this I will ... it's kind of hard to explain it but your wells are sitting or mounted too high which means that you were using too much feed speed .... Back your speed down a bit and spend a little longer in the the puddle .... The well should be just a little bit above the actual surface ... The address should blend in like a transition of a quarter pipe ... And if your welding two flat piecesit it shouldn't protrude more than maybe 1/16 of an inch above the actual surface.... Practice with some coupons and bevel them ... Then fill in the groove in theCenter and then do the same thing with some uprights or some 90° angles .... when doing angles start from the top metal and work your way down that way your work peace will adjust correctly if you start from the bottom of the puddle will already be at the bottom so you want your puddle to kind of start on the upper side first .... but other than that you're doing great just slow down your speed a little bit and slow down the feed a little bitand you can leave the average high on thick metal just turn it back a little bit when you're on thinner metal and then adjust your speed back a little bit more on the smaller stuff ... think of it like squeezing a tube if you squeeze a tube to fast you get a great big glob of stuff if you're not moving fast enough but since you can't put enough amperage in because you're not letting it sit with enough heat it doesn't melt down into the middle for enough... If that makes sense
