This was a great Q & A man, because Bay has never done anything like this before. Many people always assumes he's some ''too cool for school'' director that just makes films for money, but in stuff like this you can just see that he makes the films he makes because he loves making films, and he's talking about them like a little kid. And with all the creative shots in his films, you can see that that's his mindset, and I love it. Imo, even though he's made extremely successful films, Bay is crazy underrated. Most people just say stuff like his films are just; explosions, 260 shots and slo-mo's. But there is so much to his films that make them a true Bay film. From blocking, to cinematography, to lighting, color grading, sound design, all that. And I love that with something like this, he's finally getting some love. Because people and especially critics love to trash on this guy hard, harder than almost any other director, and why?! Something like Fast and the Furious also doesn't receive this level of hate, and those films don't come even close to having any real style or a unique eye behind them, no vision. So it's awesome to see him just talk and to hear all these awesome stories of his, and you could tell that he loved being there. Man, in a time when so many films look the same, boring, flat, desaturated, nothing shot practical anymore and just things shot on sound stages, we NEED someone like Bay. Someone that does it the old fashion way, a dying art imo. And don't forget how without Bay, we we would've not had a lot of things we have now. I mean, the first director to star two black actors as leading men on his FIRST film, broke ground in terms of CGI in films, the end battle in the first Avengers film is pretty much a rip off of TF3's ending battle, and just so many careers from actors that now are huge all started with Bay, and so much more. Great vid, loved it.

So am I my theory is because critics have disliked aspects of his movie's throughout his whole career so maybe that trend just carried on overtime even Michael said once that he sat down with a big critic for lunch once and he straight up asked why do you guys go after me and his response was cause you had way to much sucess way to young which is laughable to say the least alot of critics are parasites anyway but no one has to care about that I think he's one of the greatest action directors of all time and he makes movie's I love and I want to see

here’s my honest opinion for one I think because he’s not the typical filmmaker in Hollywood that makes what they want him to make which is all that flamboyant ass shit most of his movies I’ve looked at have all been critically panned with negative reviews tranformers revenge of the fallen was nominated for like 5 razzie awards (meaning award for worst picture, worst actor, Director) and I never understood because I personally loved the movie!!! anyways he gets all this neglect but the interesting part he’s one of the highest grossing film directors of our time topping over $5 billion I think the simple answer is he doesn’t adide by what they want he does what he wants which is why true bay fans like myself love his movies Bad Boys trilogy is my favorite hands down yet both of them received negative reviews but weak ass Bad Boys 3 gets critical acclaim reviews also saying it’s the best one in the franchise which I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH and here’s the funny part he didn’t direct that Movie he served as Executive producer but not director and I always found that odd even real fans kno Bad Boys 3 was weak less explosions weak plot film doesn’t even fit the category to even be a sequel it fills more like a spin off he’s just naturally talented gifted filmmaker and director and what I admire the most about him and most people don’t see it even tho it’s right there HE’S ALWAYS HANDS ONE WITH THE CAMERA he doesn’t fully rely on the DP or Cam Op he gets exactly what he see’s so imo he gets hate because he makes Movies that aren’t made anymore Ambulance is a DAMN GOOD MOVIE even tho it’s predictable and some parts made me shake my head that’s how I knew it was a good movie
@m1lst3r89

@@EDJK_ michael bay has his own style, like most of directors. The only difference is this where you are wrong, his movies are purely made for commercial, pop corn use. And he makes what THEY want him to make because they know he is money grabber. Even he admitted he makes movies for teenage boys. The truth is, movies are typically made for everyone. And his movies are for everyone, because of commerciality of them. Hence why he was always critically ridiculed. I certainly don't see what is worth in Tarantino:s movies, but he gets constant praise. To ask someonr that, he would call me rube. Bay strengths are not good scripts, finding proper dramatic moment or to tell a deep engrossing. Ambulance I am not gonna even trty to watch, but it's his weakest film for sure. But I liked Bad Boys 4 Life, but hate what they did to Will Smith's character. I love most of Bay movies but I also acknowledge and admit why is he hated.
