I asked Michael Bentine for a copy when he was visiting the railway one day. He was a really nice chap and one day it turned up in the post.

What I thought was one of the gang being wiped out by a bridge was New Romney station roof, well,it was all a long time ago and memories can get scrambled over the years!.It is an absolute gem of a film clip, many thanks for posting it.

I live near Romney Marsh and often cycle there. The present line is a single track and there is no bridge for the train to cross. I first saw this in about 1960 and in those days I never thought that I would be moving to that part of Kent. In it is Clive Dunne from Dad's Army.

As with all filming on the railway it had to be fitted in among normal passenger trains so anyone looking for continuity is going to be a bit disappointed. Although MB appears to be the driver the hunched figure in the corner of the cab is George Barlow.
