This is what made Michael Jordan THE BEST player. For all of his abilities. He never quit. The hustle at 2:02 after the ball was taken away from him. You rarely see that. Especially from a person who has an injury as like Jordan did.

Just noticed, look how fast the explosion and the ballhandling move is before MJ loses it at 1:59. You only see it for half a second as it develops before he loses the ball and stumbles, but you can see that it was explosive, and the ballhandling move (what I assume was going to be a behind the back or reverse between the legs dribble) was incredibly fast.

Remember this game clearly. Dumars played a great game. He was a great player. Jordan was injured he couldn`t run or move smoothly like he did. Detroit abused the weakened Jordan hampered by an hip injury. In game 1 detroit`s antics almost finished Jordan career

Not MJ's greatest offensive game, but lots of nice hustle plays and near-plays defensively. Look how he hits Grant with the pass the instant Horace opens up inside at 4:40 (MJ looked Aguirre away, which made Aguirre leave Grant to cover the perimeter, since he thought the pass was going outside to Pippen). I think Jordan was still bothered by the leg/hip injury he sustained on that takedown in game 1, because he wasn't moving as well this game.

takedown? you mean when MJ tried to jump sideways thru a closing triple team?he took himself down on that play...maybe pass the ball when there are 3 defenders on you...

Detroit was the better team. They had the champions edge over the young Bulls. The Pistons didn`t respect Pippen nor Grant nor Paxson. They only feared Jordan: Their Jordan rules almost finished Michael`s career that year. In 1990 Jordan was in the pinnacle of his abilities. With 27 years old Jordan was a unstoppable force. To this day, and despite Detroit`s superior team, i still think that Jordan could`ve upset the champions. Detroit with its intimadatory schemes injured Jordan in game 1

When did the Jordan rules almost finish MJs career?show me the play where they injured him...he had an injured groin in 89 and that injury occured before the pistons series began...muscle tear injures arent the type of inuries opponents can generally cause...lets see this play you speak of...frankly, the hardest foul/shot they delivered on him was mahorn wayy before the Jordan rules existed during a reg season battle...the jordan rules were 1st implemented in game 4 of the 89ecf...lets see your example

@@mickeyjohnson5247 very well said my ass hes lying thru his teeth...ive gone thru that game its available in full here on youtube where is this play they injured him on the fact is MJ had a groin injury predating the beginning of this series and groin injuries arent injuries opponents generally cause or even reaggravate...he reaggravted it because he had to try to hard..yea they were intimidating because they actually matched his level of intensity or perhaps even brought their own up a level beyond his and caused him to overexert himself so much he reinjured himself...they didnt even create and implement the Jordan Rules until game 4 yet hes trying to insist theyd injured him thru dirty means in game 1...if he was so injured and was so intimidated howd the Bulls get up 2-1 after the 1st 3 games with MJ scoring 46pts and nailing the GW at the buzzer to win gm3?

Healthy? Mj was injured this series and took them to 7 with Scotty playing horrible

Detroit simply had MJ's number from 88-90. All these excuses for MJ is downright nauseating. "He was injured". "Scottie played horrible" "They tried to hurt him" etc. etc. Detroit proved 3 years in a row that even if you have the greatest player ever, it still takes a TEAM to win at the end of the day. Jordan didn't become a champion until he finally TRUSTED his teammates when it mattered most. The series went 7 games but Chicago won all there games at home with MJ playing some of the greatest individual basketball of his career to barely come away with victories in games 3 and 4. Otherwise the Pistons would have swept them or beat them in 5. They pretty much won all there home games handily in this series.

Detroit killed Chicago in this game... who cares how Jordan played, the Bulls got beat badly... too bad... by the way, 1991, the Pistons handed that to Chi-town hands down; healthy Detroit eats that team up again... easy cookies.

Jordan & the Bulls were extremely close in 1990. But the difference in the 1990 series & 1991 is this. In 1990 Scottie Pippen was still deferring to MJ. In 1991 he showed up as a Bonafide star!
