The block at 1:29-1:32 is very rare, and is in my opinion one of, if not THE, most absurd defensive play ever. Goes up looking to block with his right hand. is faked out on the shot attempt, has the awareness, reaction time, and physical dexterity to contort his body in mid-air, spins around and blocks the shot with his OTHER hand all before landing. Honestly, when you really consider it it's just mind-boggling. Never seen anything like it. He has another couple of defensive plays on that level too - most notably the steal vs. James Edwards in like 1990 where he contorts himself around for the steal.

Any clips of this? Never seen anyone else do it, and to be honest I'd doubt either of them could do exactly that play - not because they lack the raw leaping ability or hang time, but more so the body control to turn in mid-air like that and also the timing to keep track of the ball while in the air like that. I'd need to see it.

Look at the hands he is using to block those shots. sometimes is the left, sometimes is the right. this dude was ambidextrous. used both hands equally for everything. used both feet equally. I played 15 years basketball. Its very hard to use both. I favor my right hand and left foot. he uses both hands and both feet. he's like the uncertainty principle in motion. could be left leg right hand, or left leg left hand or ... the other variations. not gonna mention all of them because there are too many. this guy had it all. so beautiful to watch. I'm not even envious. I hang my jersey a long time ago. But still fun to watch MJ. Always fun to watch human excellence. Doesn't happen that often.

No "arguably," he is the best shot blocker ever among guards. Stats don't lie. Wade is close, but that's it. As an amusing side note, Lebron got a bunch of attention for all his chase down blocks that one year and some started claiming he might be the best shot blocker in the league, and in fact he wasn't even the best shot blocker on his own team, as Wade finished the year with more blocks.

I really enjoy the music behind your videos it really ads to that feeling that you got watching when watching Michael Jordan play. Poetry in motion as they say. He's so agile and so fluid with his movements and to able to accelerate from a stopped to go to make his body react to his thoughts like his reaction time so instantly is the best I've seen. Lots of players have 1 or 2 " pretty moves" but let's be honest every movement 23red makes is the perfect motion nothing is wasted or looks ugly. Jordan 23.... people do forget that when he played basketball he didn't play conservatively he played all out. Especially today's nba players. With Jordan's athleticism his strength his speed his air his balls his ethic his win no matter what his load management wtf I wana win. He ain't letting anyone dominate or beat chicago while he chills on the bench havin a good ol chuckle on a day off lol. He literally would be basket steal basket steal basket steal with a whole lotta air and fade aways thrown in for good measure in today's cotton wool my pinky hurts era he'd man handle half the league with a cigar in his mouth.
