@ericjefferson9684 I'm talking about the France family. They are union busting, greedy goons. I love racing, but their authoritarian approach to governing the sport stands in the way of progress for the teams, drivers, and fans overall. Yes all major team owners in sports are usually billionaires. In the NFL MLB ect the players and teams have greater rights and influence over their sport, and it makes a better product for the fans. I think the NASCAR sports business model needs to look more like other major sports leagues with players/teams rights and transparency.
@ericjefferson9684
22 сағат бұрын
@@aarontalksculture4946go start your own business and then let others call you greedy. Private ownership means just that. Those other owners have more than enough resources to start their own series. They’re the greedy ones. They want to take from someone else. And NASCAR is one of the few, if not the only national sports leagues that remain affordable to attend for the middle class. They even let you bring in your own food and drinks. That will change if Jordan gets his way.
@aarontalksculture4946

@ericjefferson9684 Yes, NASCAR is a private business. They can freely continue authoritarian leadership over their league. It will increase tension with teams and drivers. When NASCAR hoards revenue, it causes teams to budget more and decreases competition. When NASCAR union busts, it hurts drivers, crews and all team members. "Pay Drivers" or drivers who buy their own seats through sponsorship are a byproduct of the NASCAR business model. This would be absurd in any other sport.

I agree with you, I expect this to be settled before NASCAR goes through discovery. We don’t know with any level of certainty that all of them signed the same charter agreement. For example, we all are of the belief that HMS and JGR will be allowed to have 4 charters but everyone else is limited to 3, clearly not the same agreement. Would it be so hard to imagine HMS getting a few more points of the TV money that say TrackHouse? I’m not saying that is the case, I’m saying NO ONE outside of NASCR knows. After 70+ years of strong-arming people there will be a graveyard of bodies buried in those books, the France family will cave before discovery. If NASCAR does allow this to go to trial (bad, bad idea) they could be forced to sell off all of the Tracks, any other racing leagues - Like Xfinity and Truck, not just ARCA and IMSA. I would expect the 23IX team to highlight that the only true competitor for NASCAR CUP is the NASCAR owned Xfinity and Craftsman series also owned by the France family. NASCAR as a lot more at risk than 23XI, and 23XI knows it.

In 1960 Curtis Turner wanted to get the drivers to align themselves with the teamsters union and Bill France Senior Van him from NASCAR so don't think it couldn't happen again. To quote Bill France Junior to Dale Earnhardt Senior NASCAR is a benevolent dictatorship. All these people crowing about how the France family/NASCAR should be tossing teams, throwing cautions on them, failing tech, etc. are listing out precisely the sorts of things that are issues with what should be an unbiased sanctioning body whose goal is advancing a sport and not enriching one family.
