Wow this makes so much sense now. Been a long time fan of Michael Lemmo. Have always loved all the Norms videos of him playing. He has such a unique style and personality to his playing, the whole VanHalen vibe in his style makes total sense!. Thank you for this and recognizing a guy I am a real fan of! 🎸🎸🎸

Lemmo and Jen have become a staple in my daily YT viewing. He's just a wealth of knowledge and a heck of a great player. Cool EVH story. I have a similar story with Sammy out here in Chicago, but I was an adult not a kid. Sammy is one of the major class acts in the business.. Good job Chris, thanks guys.

I understand his passion. As a young teen in 86,i was so passionate about jimi hendrix. I used to have dreams about him. I would cry wondering what he be like today. In my dreams I'd be hanging out with him jamming. Then after a while he'd check his watch. Say he has to go and then I'd wake up with tears in my eyes. I understand his love for Eddie

I was a year or two after you with my love for Jimi. I had dreams and obsessed and his music changed my life. Here I am 50 plus years old, and Jimi is STILL blowing my mind. But yes, Mr. Lemmo was so fortunate to get to spend a couple hours with his guitar hero.

@beachcomber4141 Absolutely!. It's mindboggling how gifted Jimi is/was, those backwards solo's where woven together so perfectly because he literally knew how it would sound forwards and back!. His use of controlled free-back in the last parts of the track is just untouchable!. He was so humble with it too, what a beautiful soul. Peace brother!.

I have been watching Mr Lemmo now for the last year on Norman's Rare Guitars website. He never fails to impress me and I have been playing close to 50 years (music keeps a person forever young at heart. I am a living example!). I am glad he made the statement regarding 11's (which I use as well) as being the standard (probably closer to 12's) when the Jazzmaster was designed. This is an important fact people don't think about. The 59 LP holy grails for instance sounded different in 59 because they probably came with .012 gauge flat wound strings out of the factory. The rockers like Jimmy Page would apply lighter gauge round wounds strings which by nature have a more trebly sound. I hear he used .008s at one time, yikes! This is not to mention ease of playing. Getting back to the star of the show, I never heard Mike use his effects before which was also impressive. He seems like a good soul, I am really glad he is seeing some substantial success as a result of his magnificent talent.

@justinguitarcia

Technically not incorrect. Colloquially jazzmaster pickups are also referred to aa a variety of “soapbar” - it is an aesthetic category afterall; nonetheless he didn’t call them p90s, he called them jazzmaster soapbars and later in the vid referred to it again, correctly as a single coil. Both p90s and jazzmaster pups are wide range single coils, the jazzmaster pickup being even wider than a p90 giving it its characteristic full spectrum bass/treble eq curve
