The gameplay, the storytelling, the environment, the characters...i miss the times where games had a meaning and i wonder if it's because i got older and I've slowly see everything on replay or because they really can't pull off something that stands up to the level of a FC3...

Vaas is honestly my favorite villain in the Far Cry series. Every scene with him made me genuinely terrified. He wasn't a ruler of a country or a state. He never showed mercy to Jason. He just had that aura constantly screaming "I will kill you and bathe in your blood." And huge props to Michael Mando, you don't get an actor like *that* every day

It's phenomenal and beautiful how articulate and emotional he is while portraying, explaining and "defending" Vaas as a character. It's a moment of pure beauty. EDIT: Vaas was so much more complex and deep than all of us actually ever imagined. And it's beautiful seeing Michael put into words just how complex the character of Vaas is, and his understanding of that complexity.

to be honest i wish there was a remake of farcry 3, i loved everything in it, the maps, the grind to 100 percent with the relics, the towers and liberaries to conquer, the animals to skin for better leveled equipment the special weapons. and the co op mode that is different from the regular campaign, playing it with my brother on split screen. just everything....besides the graphics and fps. the reason why i want a remake is for the farcry engine and gameplay/story to look more like farcry 6, detail and graphics wise.

Vaas was one of the best game (and even movie) villains ever. Such a multifaceted character: a violent, unmerciful tropical island pirate exempt from any laws, but also a knowledgeable, communicative villain with very valid social criticisms. All in all, a beautifully designed, written and portrayed villain who singlehandedly saved the franchise and changed gaming forever. Thanks Michael, keep rocking it.

I remember the day I was first introduced to the Far Cry series… March 2016, I was 15 years old. It was a depressing day. I found out that the girl i was crushing on used me to get at my brother. Really hurt me badly… I went on Xbox 360 to play destiny with my one of my friends and saw he was playing Far Cry 3. At the time I’ve heard about the release of far cry:primal which included prehistoric environment, the kid I was back then loved dinosaurs so much that I assumed Far Cry 3 was about dinosaurs on a lost island. As I saw the first half of the game’s cutscene, my mind was eager to see if I’d run into raptors and Rexes after I saw Jason and his friends parachuting on the rook islands. But then…I saw him…Vaas…in that moment of silence, the expectations of my inner child disappeared for a moment. I was so focused on Vaas’s first monologue that I forgot I was playing a video game…as I progressed into the game seeing his “family speech”, and reached the mission to “definition of insanity monologue”, i was once again in awe from what I’ve just experienced. His monologue of doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a new result has stuck with me to this very day… The far cry series has been a very therapeutic coping mechanism throughout my teenage years. I’ve experienced betrayals from friendships, heartbreaks from girls, and people who I’ve trusted Turing against me or leaving out of my life. Indeed Vaas was right about the definition of insanity. I for so long search genuine love from a woman, friendships, and people who I considered family, only for it to be all thrown away… The manipulation that both Jason and Vaas faces from Hoyt and Citra easily resonated with me, I related to their struggles. Citra’s manipulation reflected the heartbreaks and deceptions Ive had from girls I easily fell for and betrayals from friends i grew up with, and Hoyt’s manipulation reflected of how society wanted me to act accordingly and follow with the system we live under to blend in with everyone. Far Cry 3 not only was the foundation of the far cry series but it was the foundation of me growing up to become the person I am today and someone who understands the truth about life and how some things we should cherish before it’s gone and we find ourselves seeking it out only to be once again stripped away that it leads us to go crazy. Just like Vaas did… Far Cry 5 has also had a great impact in my life aswell. Joseph Seed’s Philosophies and preachings about the society we live in and how cruel the world is led for me to see that not everything is going to be perfect and we have to be strong and vigilant and firm and have faith that things will get better and the time will come that the innocent children we once were, Will Rise Again…one day.
