Would love to vape DMT rather or other psychedelic drugs like the magic mushrooms, I've been hearing lots of stories about them saying they hit different.

Strongly recommend just sticking to shrooms if you want an hallucinogenic experience. I was given “DMT" one time by someone I trusted (at the time) and it turned out too intense that the trip lasted for 24 hours. Can't really be sure what you're getting aside from shrooms. Cause I personally have never had a bad experience with mushrooms though.

I first started drinking coffee regularly around 1990 when I was on deployment with the Navy. I was already in my late thirties then and only seldom drank coffee before that time. When I got stationed in Italy my appreciation for coffee increased and I've never been without coffee for the past 30 years. I enjoy it immensely. It gives me a boost in the morning and helps me wind down in the evening. I'm 70 now, free of comorbid conditions, not on any maintenance meds and don't see any reason to quit coffee.☮❤😊

Spoken like a true addict. I had a cup of coffee in 1969 and it made me feel like an anxious wreck. My energy has always been quite high and unlike caffeine folks, I never feel like I "need" something to get going. Seems to me addicts always praise their addictions when the need is greater than the life without it. I never run out of gas, but my coffee drinking friends always do. So how is that a benefit? To say we are built to be addicted is a pretty sad view of evolution. Being tired is the wisdom of your body to ask for rest--not force it into action. But hey, that's one non-caffeinated person's opinion.

Many people drink coffee because it's so delicious, not because they need it. I don't need coffee but I choose to drink it very often because no other drank tastes as good. I hate drinking water for example because it's tasteless.

Your comment makes sense, and at the same time, lacks a good deal of the complexity and nuance that research has revealed about the reasons and functions of addictions. Also, is it possible you’re expressing disdain for “addicts” without having considered what there is in your own life that functions in the same way that substances might do for those you label as “addicts”? Most, perhaps all, of us have something that we do that helps us feel better in the short term, but which has some harm or detriment in the long term, but which we keep doing anyway.

I never drank coffee as a kid, and thought it weird that some parents let their kids drink it, well it was the 60's. I was on gate duty in the middle of winter, at Walter Reed in Wash DC and I had been using the coffee provided us just to keep my hands warm. Once I drank a cup my life changed. I got laid more often and I started playing guitar. I started to par tehh!

I have no incling to stop drinking coffee. I have ADD and lately I've been reading how Caffeine actually helps the ADD brain. Many (so not all) ADD-patients can have caffeine quite short before bedtime without sleeping-problems. I also have a slight case of Diabetes 2. I don't need meds for it but it is monitored. When I have to give blood to have my BS checked I can't have any food at least 8-10 hours prior. The nurse that draws my blood once asked "Are you a coffe-drinker". I admitted that I was. She said that they normally advise people to not drink coffee before drawing blood. But, as she said, it appears that people who regularly drink coffee (in the morning) have a better blood-glucose level so it would be better if I DO have that coffee.

My relationship with caffeine is a complicated one. My folks always had their coffee in the morning and throughout the day, and I loved the smell of it percolating on the stove. I wasn’t allowed to drink coffee but sampled a sip or two from my parents’ cups growing up, out of curiosity. The taste was nothing like the smell!! As a teen, I embraced the religion my mother was a lip-service-only member of. As coffee was one of the things strictly proscribed by my faith, I never so much as tasted it again until my early fifties, when I realized the religion was a bunch of made up nonsense, and left it. At that point, I had begun a job that required hours of repetitive activity plus continuous attention to detail; a perfect storm of disaster for someone with severe ADD, so I turned to coffee to try to maintain my focus (ADD meds hadn’t done the trick, and had badly messed up my teeth instead, so…). Coffee helps a bit for an hour or so with focus. I think? However, coffee is very helpful with the dysthymia that has also plagued me all my life, so I keep drinking it. For now. I’m also engaged in a program that helps heal the damages of early developmental trauma on the body, and that is having the most profound effects of anything I’ve tried throughout my life. My plan is to wean myself off of caffeine gradually in the coming year or so, and see what baseline is like now for me. I believe it takes a good 6 months to a year to really get the body back into it’s own stasis after years of caffeine consumption, based on anecdotes from people in my former religion who weaned themselves off of a caffeine habit. However, if I don’t like baseline me, I’m fine with using coffee to treat myself for the rest of my life. I consider myself very lucky, actually, to be a person whom caffeine affects in this way in such mild doses as I’m able to use. As an anti-depressant, it has relatively mild downsides compared to pharmaceuticals and other substances people use to treat their barriers and pain.

I had my last cup of coffee in 1982, I was 11 when I realised that I liked nothing about the cup of coffee in my hand, it smelt and tasted bad and I questioned why I was drinking it... I threw that coffee away, never to return to it... (with the exception of the very occasional Irish coffee around Xmas time...) I still dislike the smell (it's just foul) and will eat nothing that has coffee in it, if I do accidentally wind up with something with coffee in it in my mouth, it soon gets spat out and I have to wash my mouth out. I continued to drink Tea until I was 13 or 14, but then stopped drinking that as well, I don't even drink Coca-Cola. I will, however, drink a small can of Redbull if I find myself having to drive long distances either very early in the morning or very late at night, just to keep my eyes open. It is the only product with an obvious caffeine content that I buy, but only for emergencies.

Here is another not so good factor about caffeine. If you consume too much, you may develop an arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). I drank about 8-10 cups a day when I was diagnosed. I developed an SVT arrhythmia. I slowly cut down to a 10 oz. cup of coffee in the morning. Since I made that change; I have not had more instances of this arrhythmia.
This is fun to listen to. I drink coffee maybe once a week on a weekend (a good espresso). But your conversation makes me want to have a coffee on a Tuesday afternoon! I don’t do sodas but I do like dark chocolate (80%). The mind is easily manipulated.
