The fact that he didn’t do it for free shows he has more integrity by speaking up like this. It’s like how Anne Rice started out criticizing Tom Cruise’s role as the vampire Lestat in “Interview With A Vampire”, but then backpedaled on her opinion once a lot of money was on the line. “The Flash” was supposed to be a major train wreck and Ezra Miller going over the edge adding insult to injury. It’d be one thing if it was just that Ezra Miller was a bad person and the movie was at least “okay”. But the movie also had to suck. You’re also going to probably have more actors like Michael Keaton say stuff like this in the end because it’s not like any of the actors or the studio are making any residuals off of the movie. It’d be the same thing as a few celebrities being asked to volunteer for a school play in Podunk, Ohio and perform for the elementary/middle-school with gas or plane tickets on the school’s dime and said after the performance, “Yeah, that was kind of lame; but it was a job.” Anyway, the current holders of the IP and the marketers and advertisers and producers all decided to wipe their butts with money they’re not going to get back now. I have a feeling the story of the filming and release will make a really hilarious book one day!

He actually has more colorful things to say about his participation than this. Likening what Andi M. did in the Flash to someone playing with their action figures, but I think that's the nature of these multiverse-based films. Characters who previously died can come back, continuity basically means nothing and so forth. It certainly kicks the legs out from any amount of gravitas that previous films may have had when no one truly dies. I am sad because the disgust you have for it seems to be generalized and I believe that I am part of the minority. So i better get use to the idea of not having fan service and different versions of the same characters within the same movie, right? But you see, i tend to believe (maybe i'm wrong. I probably am...) that the problem is not multiverses and fan services but the wrong and lazy ways that they are employed. To wrongly use a particular device doesn't mean that device is necessarily a bad one. What do you think? But as a screenwriter, imagine if you could meet and interact with another version of yourself in a parallel universe... And see Christopher Reeves' Superman interact with Henry Cavill's Superman, for example... C 'Mon! If it's well used and written, wouldn't you be a bit curious?@@PlymouthPontiac

I love this dude. He has the same name as a terrible manager I had a few years ago so it's a little weird lovin him so much.

Michael Shannon is a stand-up guy! The respect he showed Zack Snyder is a rare thing these days. Good for him!

To this day, what warnerbros did to Zack is the most evil thing a company has ever done (to my knowledge).

They could’ve definitely used a different actor, didn’t make sense to bring his version of zod back. His reaction to this was priceless

Respect to Michael Shannon for getting Snyder's blessing, and to Snyder for giving him the go-ahead, despite his treatment at the hands of WB.
