This is vital listening. Silverblatt is astounding in his breadth and understanding. I wish we had him for every cultural field. He's irreplaceable and rare and deserves keys to every sort of heaven.

Amazing and moving. I found it very interesting how Michael contrasted himself with Charlie Rose and Fresh Air like interviews with authors. Indeed, ''interviewing'' authors is much more than just chatting with the authors. Most importantly, it is about reading, understanding, ingesting their work enough to have an informed and stimulating conversation. No one does it better and with more dedication than Michael. I hope world does not run out of great writers AND Readers, ever!

Amazing. Michael is so sensitive and articulate. I'm constantly surprised that he isn't a fiction writer himself.

Silverblatt is the best reader we have in America today. If America had some kind of Nobel-like prize, he would need to be the person in charge of it.

I don't care how smart he is, he has the most obnoxious voice and way of talking i've ever heared.
