Personally, this my favourie interpretation of this piece. Michelangeli has colourfully used the grand dynamics that the piano offers to his advantage - he has really brought one of debussy's more playful compositions to life.

wow debussy was so creative with what he did, he really had such a wide range of styles/ choices on the piano alone. so much color in his music, hes probably the most ahead-of-his-time musician that's ever been so far, either him or allan holdsworth.

After listening to quite a number of different people playing this piece, i think i like his interpretation of Debussy's minstrel the best.

I discovered this prelude today in a collection book I have. I've been playing piano for 8 years, and have never heard/played this prelude before, but I immediately fell in love with it... it has enough depth to be a substantial piece, but at the same time its simple enough to sightread through after a few attempts. Very fun, and lots of opportunities for all kinds of expression.

Michelangeli,s performance is invincible . Michelangeli,s performance transcends the times . Because his performance has a thing mentioning the heart of the person . From Tokyo in the dizzying Megalopolis ablaze with numerous neon light

@sherbetstraw I totally agree, I had to write an analysis paper on this Prelude, first sot cating for it, but as I listened more deeply, it has a very nice and deep structure the first impressions wear off and you hear the great intricacies hidden within.

I am analysing this for uni.. When I first heard the piece (3 hours ago or so) I pretty much hated it. Now, 50 plays later, I'm quite fond of it! :-D

personally i think he looks very passionate about the music, not bored, i saw a cellist named viktor uzur play a concerto by chopin i believe (i may be wrong) anyway at first i thought he looked disgusted or bored or uninterested but then i realized he was truly enjoying the music

Oui et non. Bien sûr que Minstrels n'est pas la pièce la plus difficile du répertoire. Mais jouer comme ça, c'est comme de conduire à trois cents à l'heure...

way too slow. i like the drama and dynamics in it though. not exciting enough. BORING!
