I have the PC Engine version (XE-1 HE Pro). It also needed repair when I bought it. The potentiometers for the adjustable auto fire were somehow missing the internal wipers. I disassembled one and the markings along with some probing seemed to indicate that they were logarithmic taper, even though that doesn’t make much sense for a turbo slider. Shouldn’t half way be half the speed of full speed? Wouldn’t a linear taper accomplish this better than a logarithmic taper? Well, I couldn’t find log taper pots with the same PCB footprint and range so I had to order lin. With lin, turbo speed seems to ramp normally making me wonder why the heck mine ever had log pots. The plungers were thinner and a bit too long so I had to trim them down and used some Blu-Tack. The Blu-Tack non-permanently fills the gaping holes in the old plastic slide caps while still allowing the plungers to displace some to fit in. They don’t fall off and no one has noticed yet. ;)

Don't forget that the XE-1 ST2 is also compatible with the Genesis... But you can't play certain games like Street Fighter II' - Special Champion Edition or Mortal Kombat with this due to the three button...
