Hi there! Today we compare two Microlab products, smaller and cheaper Microlab B77 and much bigger and more expensive (but still affordable) Microlab Solo 6C. Starting from the build quality, these two are build to similar standart that is OK, nothing speactacular and nothing outraging either. B77 is the most basic powered speakers system You can get with just a volume control knob on the front and two pairs of RCA inputs on the back, plug and play at its finest. Solo 6C is also simple but adds remote control and tone controls, plus it has simple digital display on the front. Sound wise these two are solid performers but they do differ in few areas. B77 is rather bright sounding speaker with pronounced treble and upper midrange and bass that is a bit boomy and lacks a bit of punch when asked for it. Solo 6C is more polite, less bright, but it does not come at the cost of detail, the treble is just better balanced with the rest of the spectrum as is the midrange. Bass of Solo 6C is better but in a different way than You expect just by looking by it. Solo 6C is bigger, but its bass is not neccesarily bigger or deeper, but it is more toneful and more detailed with less boom in the upper ranges. Overall I like the Solo 6C more for its more natural and easier on the ear sound quality, so if You can accomodate it on Your desk than choose it over B77. If Your space is limited and You need something inexpensive yet good sounding than B77 is a solid choice as well. What do You think? Which one You like more and why? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers!

After this comparative I'm really excited to see how their middle brother, Solo 5C, will sound. Maybe it has better mids than the 6C, and better "punch" than the B77, but I worry about the bass

The B77 just looks so aesthetically pleasing, yes its all about the sound the speakers make, but them looking nice and timeless is still a plus :)

Solo 6 = discreet highs, B77 = sharp highs, is a matter of personal preference here, therefore.. but for me the middle of the B77 are better. The surprise was the extended bass of the B77.. one of the best results I've ever seen for this monitor size. My choice is the B77.

man, it's just tooo booomy... 6c is much better as a studio monitor. A soundstage just opens up when you listen to the 6c.

Own then both. The B77 i bought for my daughter room spune very good, with good treble and midrange. The bass is there, clean and well rounded, but not as powerfull ore engaging as on solo6. For a small room the sound quality ia excelent, and the volume too. With the solo6 You can feel imediatley the size oglf the speakears. Sound is much deeper and the bass is better pronunced. Treble could be better , but problema solved with a good equalizer. You can really full them come alive at higher volume. Overall a very well rounded clean sound. Final verdict. B77 has a higher pitched sound, with better treble and is the best for small room or PC desk. Solo6 has a richer sound overall even If the treble is not as pronounced as i would like( i'm a treble lover, maybe that's why, but with an eq "problem is solved). If You have the space to acomodate them than is the better choice. Power is there If You need IT, and very small level of distorsion ar max volume. The bass is even better when in the floor. Și both are very good. B77for small rooms with less space, and good hi mod and treble with good bass for it's size, and solo6, deep sound , excelent bass and clear tone overall, good power for big rooms.

Thank you very much for this comparison video. I know the sound of the B77 well, in these months I am trying it live and it has already seemed to me an extraordinary product for the rather cheap price. But wanting something better, and having found the 6Cs in a store for only 102 Euros, I think it could be the 2.0 facility that does it for me, listening to your video. Tendentially the aggressive sound in the highs of the b77 I tend to attenuate them by 3-5 steps, while in this video the highs of the 6c seem "perfect / natural", compared to the B77. (ideally I am interested in a sound, like a tone, similar to the neutral and warm sound of the Beoplay H6 1g headphones, my favorite headphones) I would also have liked a deeper sound with a spacious soundstage compared to the B77, and thanks to the size of the 6C I they seem to have it, actually, in this video. The greater power seems to me good even with the prospect of sharing musical listening for more people, in a larger room. In short, do you who have compared them confirm that the sound of the 6C is more spacious than the B77? I know someone criticizes the 6C for having the narrow soundstage, and the less detailed image, compared to more expensive speakers. But I can well understand: I personally have never seen for only 100 Euro crates with such an interesting 6.5-inch woofer ... And in my country the JBL 305s cost over 300 Euros, and have a deeper bass being smaller .. .. It would be enough for me to understand if they have a more natural sound and a little more spacious than the B77, because I already know that the depth of the bass is extraordinary, from the video, and without being as intrusive as in certain systems 2.1 ... Greetings

The bass test results from the B77 are amazing, but just listening to it, B77 sounds really cramped and kind of like listening to music on the radio, whereas the larger speakers deliver a richer sound, at least to my ears.

The larger speakers sounds like no mids which makes the sound V-shaped. The B-77's sounds flatter, which for me is almost always gonna sound better.

The Microlab B77 is extremely satisfactory in size and price performance. B77 at higher frequencies and Solo6c at lower frequencies are more successful. It gives the price more than enough on both sides.

Can you tell me how far from the wall you placed the speakers ? Did you leave bass and treble on neutral values (0) or did you adjust it?

Do not bother with the b70, I bought them for the tv having in use the microlab b77 and the b70 bad sound like coming out of a shoe box. I also tried the eris 4.5 presonus and they won in naturalness the B77, all tested in my home ; I use them with a yamaha subwoofer of 8 "sw 011 and it feels like the bass ones are emvuelven along with the B77 IN THE pc table. Also as a fundamental complement of the sound card asus xonar dx or the new XONAR AE. Greetings from Argentina !

Amigo me ajuda aí.
