That’s why I usually always empty out my pockets of lint before I put my microtech in. Pocket lint mixed with the lubrication the track has is usually the main thing that gums up there action

My recommendation is to watch a video done my x ring he folds them with rem oil shakes them point down the fries it several times to brake up any gunk on the track then repeats that a few times as needed if your really having trouble I'd hold the blade wen open hit the bottom to take it off track flood it with rem oil and work it by hand applying light pressure side to side up and down to really scrub the rails then do the standard flood and fire to confirm everything is clean and working as desired... ps. Don't forget to pile that button and if your really brave order the tool and clean it by hand at your own risk lol or just send it in and have it serviced! It's not that expensive! And the knife is so insure the package!!! Good luck out there! 🥃cheers🍻

Get a can of carb cleaner from your local auto parts store. 2 bucks. Turn the knife hole down, blast it into the knife to flush out the crap. Repeat with aerosol oil of you choice.

Had the same issue . Worse part is it was brand new !!! I put Rem Oil on the inside action and right under actuator then put it in a container and tossed it around to coat everything !! No issues since and action is very smooth now 👍🏻

Maybe a good idea to spray the inside with brake cleaner at the beginning of your cleaning process to in-gunk it first. Then do all the stuff you just showed in your video. Thanks for the content. BTW, I haven’t “sharpened” my knives in over a decade. Just keep them honed with a steel like you get with your kitchen knife set. Works great on my Ultratech D/E as well. Just start slow and watch your angle until you get used to it. Keeps them razor sharp. Thanks again!

Also try to use a spray nozzle on the break free like you had on your compressed air. And when compressing the internals have the knife downward.

@@randallsmith3986 just because something can doesn’t mean it should nor it it designed for that purpose. If your car costs over $10,000 why shouldn’t you be able to take it out onto the lake and use it as a boat and have it work properly after? Not that hard to understand. Use it as a knife and you will have a high quality knife. Use it as anything else and quality doesn’t matter as using anything improperly has its consequences.

Don’t over lubricate the damn knife. Learn to disassemble and reassemble. Lots of good videos out there. Use a soldering iron to break the red loctite free. It’s extremely easy to take these guys apart and properly lubricate them, and then reassemble them. Very little parts to these well designed knives.
