Hi Jes, I came across your KZitem videos a few weeks ago & I have binged watched so so many already. I'm in NSW Australia & we had 3 bad floods last year & I lost most of my lovely garden which was just so heart breaking. I hadn't done anything to my garden all this year but in the last couple of weeks I have been buying plants & spending many wonderful hours back in my garden. Thank you for giving me my inspiration back, you are truly a wonderful gardener & your movies are brilliant, keep them coming!

Jes, your gardens are beautiful, and I always enjoy your garden walk-through tours. At the 24:42 timestamp, where nothing seems to grow well, you may want to place several stepping stones together so you can access plants more easily without stepping on nearby plants. It may make it easier to divide plants when you need to, also that will create a level spot to elevate planters if you want something taller in that area. I love your 'dump bed' idea, I'm going to steal that one! I hope that you and Nate have a wonderful weekend! ~Margie🤗🐿💐

Hi Jes, I just finished watching this latest video of yours and wanted to make a suggestion to you on your Japanese Anemones. If you were to give them more sun they would flower more and most likely spread. As long as it's not afternoon sun and you keep them hydrated I'm sure they would naturalize. Mine get a lot of sun and late afternoon shade, and they flower like crazy! At first, I was worried that they wouldn't grow for me. But now it's only their second year and they're doing so great. I don't have much shade in my yard so I took a chance to see how they would do in the sun. I've read that they need a whole lot of shade and yet others say more sun will make them flower more. I really enjoy your videos and wanted to let you know that I think your home and gardens are beautiful! Your husband Nate, does a really fine job on the lawn too. Take care for now. God bless.

You can trim the globe blue spruce....just clip the tips half off. They will branch out and incrase in density and make it look more evenly, but basically you can shape it ahyway you want. Clean out any needles inside the interior, they will harbor diseases and bugs. I take a hose and direct a brisk stream into the nooks and crannys to blast anything stuck out. That is also beneficial for all your other standards as the tops grow dense, and they need to get the died-back needles cleaned out. Its good to do that a couple of times each season, because its where aphids and such hangout. Just some maintenance hints for your prized conifers. If you have any Alberta Spruces or newly pkanted Arbovitae, especially in a standard, wrap a single layer of burlap around the tops so they won't desiccate during the winter months, and water them in good before the ground freezes.

Hi Jes! I’m so excited to be able to watch a gardener in my home state! I do like watching other garden channels, but I really wanted someone that was in my home state in a similar zone as me. Thanks for your movies! I hear you talking about Horrocks and other garden centers in mid michigan. Where are you in Michigan? Just curious. We just bought a house in Williamston, and I have lots of garden work ahead of me! Lots of deer pressure ugh! I watch your channel under my husbands account lol. Keep putting out your movies! I wish I could pass off ALL the poison ivy I have growing in my yard. It’s incredible all of the small poison ivy starts that I’ve been finding. Every time I pull some I think of you Jes. I’ve been careful but unfortunately some of it has decided that it wanted to make me miserable for pulling it out. Just in a few spots here and there nothing I can’t handle but still quite itchy. I really do need to gear up better as I work in the garden BUT it’s was sooooo hot that adding an extra layer of clothing didn’t even cross my mind. And it’s growing so randomly all over that I would have to be covered head to toe every time I went out to work in my garden. It’s in a new garden area that I’ve been clearing so one would think that I would know better than to go Willy nilly pulling weeds without gloves on. 🙄🍁🍂🍁💚🙃

Beautiful garden! Could you do a tour explaining how much shade each of your gardens are getting. I am stymied by my shade garden with dappled sunlight. Are you actually growing Sedum in mostly shade? And do your beautiful red Coral Bells keep their color in shade? You also have beautiful gardens with full sun plants that are thriving but with all your trees, I was wondering how much sun they actually get and how they thrive.

Everything looks so full and lush! You’ve done an amazing job. Have you considered planting coleus as an annual? It’s so pretty and based on your love of foliage and color variety I think it would be a good addition. I’m wondering in the spot you took the tree out - maybe put a pot there? I’ve heard some trees like walnuts do something to the soil making it difficult for things to grow there. Just a thought. Happy Fall!
