I have many 5 star reads so far this year, but the ones that have really stood out and have a place in my heart is in reading order, Four seasons in Japan, Divine Rivals, Half a Soul, The Nightingale, The Book of Longings, Curious Tides, The Winter Sea and top of them all, The Other Bennet Sister ❤❤❤ I've read 52 books so far this year! No big dissapointments, but The Book that Broke The World didn't really live up to my expectations from the first book. Still good though!

I’m looking forward to the orthinologist’s field guide to love mainly because I love India Holton’s other books. If this romance is anything like her others, it’ll be both hilarious and steamy ❤️

I recently finished Hakumei & Mikoshi Vol 1 and I felt completely in love with it. I’m used to reading stories with so many plots and find modern slice of life boring. But this one felt very relaxing to read to rest my brain from reading too many stories.

I love your videos so so much, they’re such precious gifts to me, as soon as I get the notification I know I’ll have a gentle and cozy moment to just rest, because I’ve been so busy :( this year my favorites so far have been the renegade trilogy by marissa meyer, the skyward series by brandon sanderson and the guardians of childhood series by william joyce (the one that inspired the “rise of the guardians” movie!) - sadly I’m not reading anything anymore because college has been taking up all of my time and I know if I get into a book I’ll recklessly leave everything else behind to keep reading so I won’t even risk it

I loved hearing your mid year thoughts on the books you’ve read so far, your videos are always so enjoyable and you have such wonderful book recommendations! 😊 I agree with your thoughts on Hakumei & Mikochi it was also disappointing to me, I was hoping that there was a bit more of a story, although parts of it were interesting it wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. My favorite book so far this year is a classic children’s chapter book, Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry, it is just a precious and well written story. 😀📚

Thank you for this lovely video Ahya. My favorite book so far is Nevermoor vol. 3 (just like you I'm so excited for the release of book 4 now) and the one that didn't convince me was Flow by Mikaël Thévenot, probably because I didn't really get attached to the main characters as I expected to be.

I have had a couple favorite books so far this year: Flip the Script and I’ll Be the One by Lyla Lee, The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Natsukawa, and the Heaven Official’s Blessing series by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. The books that have disappointed me were A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik and What Feasts at Night by T. Kingfisher

I read (listened to) The Easy Life in Kamusari from your recommendation and loved it!! I am excited to enjoy the sequel :D My favorite book of the year so far... this was a hard decision to make... but it has to be Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine! My most disappointing read was unfortunately (unpopular opinion incoming) The Seven Year Slip. It just didn't do much of anything for me.

Wuthering Heights is my favourite all time classic.. the beautiful writing..the way Bronte describes the moors and the characters.. such a dark moody read..I love it. The Italian is also a superb read it you love classics.. excellent piece of literature that doesn't get as much mentions but it's a wonderful gothic read. ❤❤

Hi Ahya. So far, I have only read 2 books as I am a very slow, well, a bit of lazy reader😅... I have read as long as the lemon trees grow by zoulfa katouh, which is a historical romance set in Syria. It was so beautiful, especially the romance between the main characters, was so sweet and heartwarming. My second read was days at the morisaki bookshop, which was as I had expected a cozy and lovely read. I especially enjoyed the vibes of the cafe takako used to visit... I could actually sense the beautiful aroma of coffee brewing ❤. I really plan to read more this year and have started the hobbit. I would love to know your views on it❤. Thanks for another lovely video.

The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love has got to be my most anticipated. I will read everything India Holton writes though, honestly she got me into reading as an adult. They are so funny, and her unique style of comedy I haven't encountered elsewhere. They are definitely not spice free, but where spicy scenes bother me and feel forced in other books, it never bothered me in her books, I think because it is part of the comedy. Anyway, if you don't mind the spice and can vibe with the comedy they are just amazing books. Probably still my favorite ever. If you like Ornithologist's, definitely read her past series. I wouldn't go into Ornithologist's excepting somthing like Emily Wilde’s or A Far Wilder Magic, her past work is nothing like those, but is excellent.

My favorite read so far is Last Tale of the Flower Bride by Roshani Chokshi, and I was most disappointed in the ending of Inheritance from Christopher Paolini. The books in The Inheritance Cycle are sooo long (that last one was 849 pages), and I just expected something more epic from the ending hahaha. It just felt as if the writer got completely lost in his own story haha. He made the enemy quite invincible and didn’t really know how the ‘hero’ could win 😂, so the solution for the end battle feels a bit pathetic (in my opinion).

The Ornithologist's Field Guide is on my list too but there's still a month left until it's published here. The GR reviews are pretty good so far, even the negative ones are just complaining that it's too silly, has too much orinthology, has some magical birds, has a swearing gentleman who prefers to ask for consent 😂
