For non-Muslims who didn’t realize it, sheriff Hassan was always the imam (the person whom leads the prayer, the person who prays on the left side on prayers of two people) except on the last prayer here 22:33 where Ali was the imam :(

There's so many things I could say about this show that you don't even realize while it's happening. It's brilliantly written. - Riley and Erin both experience each other's version of death. Riley is in a bright heavenly afterlife with someone who has died and he is forgiven. Erin experiences a more scientific and spiritual return to the universe. Both are presented as beautiful and hopeful in their own ways. Oh and Bev's death? She is literally trying to bury her head in the sand. Too perfect. - There are many flips on traditional Bible stories throughout the show. Immaculate conception? In this show a pregnancy disappears. The prodigal son? In this show he comes home and is shunned rather than accepted. Noah's Ark? In this show the boats are burned to prevent survival after the world is destroyed. Even at the end, with this show's version of Adam and Eve, the great miracle is not being able to walk again. So many well known concepts get flipped on their head.

Pruitt's death wasn't purposeful, he just OD'd on "angel" blood. remember that Sarah said that eventually, if you have too much, there comes a point where you can no longer filter it out of your system and it acts as a poison. Pruitt would always finish the leftover communion wine so he had way more of it than anyone else. they just showed Bev putting the poison back to remind us that she poisoned Pike. anyway, I loved your reaction to this series! I cried more during this series than any of Flanagan's series so far and it's been my favorite. so glad you enjoyed it! ❤

I'd never really noticed the shot of Sturge holding and comforting Ooker. Really glad that that actor got a chance to be more than just a stock henchman in this finale, and that he's carved out a pretty solid niche for himself in Flanagan's work. On a separate note, I may be editorializing or just straight up making shit up here, but I believe that in those moments before Bev starts digging and freaking out on the beach, she realizes that Annie was right: she isn't a good person, and what awaits her after that sun comes up is going to be horrible.

I am that I am is the name "God" gives himself in the Hebrew Bible. More commonly written as YHWH or Yahweh. But scholars didn't want to write it out considering it blasphemy, so they put the vowels of Adonai into the consonants of Yaweh to get YAHOWAH, which English Christians translated into Jehovah. So the reference of "I am that I am" is a reference to the character's god. Wikipedia has an entry on it, just search I am that I am on there.

They choose to sing the hymn (nearer my god to thee) that the string quartet played on the titanic before she sank to the bottom of the Atlantic. And I just had a dream last night that I was on the Titanic. Obviously, knowing what it was, I jumped ship. Not dying in my dreams today.

Exodus 3:13 - 14 13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” Another translation of the Hebrew in verse 14 is "I will be what I will be." So, que será, será, and all that jazz. ;)

On the point of if the "angel/vampire" died, that that might cause Leeze to lose the healing that had happened: my only thought is that we can't know if the creature died. Maybe that mechanism only works from top to bottom: when Riley died by way of the blood infection, would that not have hurt the angel? Dr. Sarah was looking at it as a blood infection, and hypothesizing that it takes a threshold amount to create a proper "vampire" - someone who's fully turned. The only main reason I think that the two kids are safe is that the angel was probably also created at some point, and it was holed up in the ground when Pruitt found it. I imagine whatever created it must be long dead, yet it's still alive. I don't think that the "parent" infector being alive matters - it seems like dying and coming back is a proper turn into the other side, and they didn't do that. So, like Dr. Sarah, I'll decide they survived.

This discussion of whether or not Bev poisoned the priest seemed to be reoccurring. Aaron, if u do your own editing, I'm surprised u missed a couple of things that indicate Bev's involvement in poisoning Monsignor Pruitt (Father Paul). Ok, after the poisoning of Joe's dog Bev had returned the poison. That was when the sheriff had startled her, & then questioned her. After that there's a scene where Bev is talking to Father Paul & she glances in the direction of the newspaper article on the wall w/the younger picture of Monsignor Pruitt. Bev gets a kind of questioning look on her face. Next, it shows Bev returning the can of poison a 2nd time. Shortly after that, Father Paul ate the soup w/the poison & died. Bev was testing whether or not Father Paul was indeed a "miracle". O, & what Erin says @ the end about when u die "I am therefore I am.." is a quote from the bible. It is when Moses is on Mount Sinai speaking to a burning bush which was the form God chose to take. God was assigning Moses the task of leading the Jews out of Egypt. Moses asked God who he was to say told him to lead them. God answered "I am." Moses didn't understand. God repeated & added to the statement "Tell the children of Israel, I am therefore I am." Yeah, God speaks in riddles sometimes in the bible. I think God was just saying "I have no name, but I exist." Anyway, that's my own interpretation. I haven't been to church for a really long time,...so. Well, I enjoyed your reaction. I knew Melanie wasn't really gonna get scared w/this one.😊 Until next time.
