*Review and thoughts in the description*
Specs:
Board: Midway60 Dark Navy
Plate: full alu plate
Switches: Cherry Ergo Clears, lubed w/ 205g0, 65 medium tx
Stabs: tx w/ xhtbdz
Keycaps: Shined GMK Wob
mount: 50a O ring
MODS:
- PCB is partially taped. Each piece of tape is about 2-3 inches spanning the entire flex cut. I did this because a full line of tape sounded too tape moddy.
- JST Cable is not in the channel. It is just in the case. Did this to prevent any flex to happen. This board even with the alu plate has wayyy to much flex
- Alu plate around the spacebar has been cut. The bottom and top portion. The spacebar originally was harsh, stiff, and loud. The spacebar now is essentially sort of plateless, softer, more toned down to my liking.
Thoughts:
This was one of the first keyboards that wasn't a budget keyboard. I think overtime, my preferences changed and I started to dislike the keyboard. It was too flexy, the sound was too muted, and didn't sound alive. All the mods above I think were needed to make this keyboard sound good. This board has too many scuffs and imo unsellable. So why not mod it out and make it sounds how I want. Overall, very happy and will keep it this way.
Ergo Clears:
Ergo clears brought more sound of this board. First. these things are scratchy, but honestly I love it. Very unique sound, but still has that cherry top out sound that everyone knows and loves. I'm glad I tried these out. NOTE: these WILL stretch your keycap stems.
