The amount a British resident must earn before being able to bring a partner to the UK may rise even higher than currently proposed, a Home Office minister has indicated.
Lord Sharpe of Epsom said the planned increase in the so-called minimum income requirement (MIR) by “early 2025”, would be “at least” £38,700.
Pressed on this in Parliament, the Tory frontbencher said he was unable to give any further information.
