I have the exact mirror image of your RR24! 2008 model, white with black bevels and an ebony board. It’s in mint shape with no chips or cracks. Honestly one of the best playing guitars I’ve ever experienced. I also have a 2008 Matt Tuck Signature Rhoads in silver, that one is unbelievable as well. Both from back when quality mattered to Jackson.

That’s awesome! They are really rare. Does your Floyd pull up all the way on the rr24?

Man, I have wanted one of those MIJ RR24M guitars for so many years. I just love the look of those inlays and black binding. Unfortunately, they now go for silly prices here in the UK. You were so lucky to get one for that price with the horns intact! As for the scratches, I would recommend a product called Eternashine Guitar Scratch Remover. It's just a polishing compound, but works wonders, especially on black guitars. I used it on an old Ibanez Prestige which was pretty scratched up and had it looking like new with a bit of elbow grease! Love your videos, it's so interesting to see the comparison between those models.

Nice vid thanks. Looking at a mij rr2 on Craigslist, bolt on neck, $300, don't have it in hand but have been blown away by Japanese made guitars and have a feeling it's gonna be amazing! Just a little mod on the whammy bar, if you can add weight to the end it flutters beautifully, tricky on a Floyd but on my strat I replaced the plastic tip with a brass one, just for looks but then realized how it changed.. thanks dude! Rock On!!

I've got a RR24 with the reverse inlays and binding that were apparently pretty rare. Plays amazing. Also have a Jackson Stars 7 string neck thru rhoads also. The japanese stuff is fantastic

Those reverse inlays ones are killers. I’d love to find a black one with red bevels

@@jed_shred_guitars I regret not getting more when I had the chance back then. The lack of white binding on the standard models turned me off at the time.

Ayo, model is the RR24m, no g. Bought one of these dudes brand new back in '09 or so for 800 I think and it was my main stage guitar for years! I would LOVE to grab another one, but I don't see them pop up for under 1200-1500 in decent shape very often.

Got a 2015 indo model, lots of blemish in the white paint, started to scrape by the heel but got it in 2016 for like 600. Plays great

8:50 you mean ‘Plastidip’ ;) I sold the exact same spec rr24m in 2017-2018, my gf bought it for me since it was so cheap ($500 in 2016-2017). Had a few dings, nothing major. But it had issues with the black inlays. The black kept rubbing off. I read somewhere that there was a batch of them that had shitty inlay material that caused this. I cleaned it up with naptha a few times, but never got it perfect. Drove me absolutely crazy. I still have lots of pics of it, if you’re interested. I do still have my og black/yellow RR24 I got new in 2009. It is still mint and I will never sell it! Thanks for the videos, love your new 89 Rhoads as well, gratz with that! 🤟🏻🔥

@@jed_shred_guitars The frets are in perfect shape and the neck is really nice. Your hand just flies down it. It has a few small dents/dings and surface scratches but it's overall an awesome guitar. Well balanced too, zero neck dive which I was worried about. The Seymour Duncan JB Bridge & Jazz Neck combo works well. The trem doesn't flutter much, prior owner put 4 springs on it and it's very firm. I'm guessing they came with 3 springs installed originally? Also came with black & silver springs, not sure which color was OEM.

All the mij Vs I've found online are bolt on. Playing up high with that metal plate is such an unnatural feeling compared to a neck thru. How do you like the rhoads compared to a king v? The rhoads seems like it wouldn't balance as well when playing sitting down.
