You're right. A glorified scrimmage where the ball thrower cannot be impeded, the opponent cannot celebrate a good play, the defense is not allowed to defend, and a flag is thrown every other play...is WILDLY more entertaining than watching warriors go to war with each other. League office is more responsible for "softness" than the players union. Protect the QB is literally something the players should not stand for. 55 men on a roster and the whole league is pent up on "protecting" 2-3 of them. It is a spit in the face to every player. The RB position would not be dying if not for these rules that artificially protect the health and logevity of immobile qbs.

It’s different now when players truly understand there is life without football. Regardless of how bad i wanna play this is not forever. Just like he said. When Dungy told em take off the pads they took the pads off. And went 8-0. Because as physical as the games are you can’t sustain that intensity every practice and every game. Game way too physical to not get banged up.

Its not just football. People today aren't as tough, their bodies can't take as much. Baseball is a fine example. Pitchers can't go beyond 100 pitches or everyone freaks out, starters can go 4 innings now and it will be considered a good job. Relievers who are able to effectively pitch 3 batters are considered rare and if you can go beyond 3 batters you are a diamond in the rough.
