Murph's call at the ends of both Game 6's in 1986 are classic. Still gives me goosebumps.

The saddest. Now, the greatest broadcast trio in baseball history (Bob Murphy, Ralph Kiner, and Lindsey Nelson) are doing Mets games in heaven. Gonna miss all of them.

By time I was listening to the mets in the mid 90s.. Murphy was passed his prime .. Gary Cohen was carrying the board cast at that point

Yea Cohen started in 1988 but by the mid 90s Gary took the brunt of the innings more than Murph

@@kevinburke6055 He did moonlight a few Mets games with Murph in 88 when Gary Thorne missed a few games but yes 89 was his first official year doing Mets radio on WFAN
